Some Mirage magic on my suspension. Some Simone and Black Forest magic on my weight. A lot more seat time. Better track. Worse weather. How does it all add up? I was about 1.5 seconds quicker than last year.

Dave G- early 70's Peugot's had a very small turbo; weighs about 9 lbs. Mount one under the passenger seat (bailing wire works best), take the points and move up to KM; problem solved.

Ok, I'll bite. Went from the NA 944 motor and tranny to the S and bested the track record for GP by over 2 seconds. Still choked in timed runs, though. Safe to say it was the car not the driver this time....

Why not jump in. Better tires (Hoosiers (2:35:76) and 710's (2:35:16) depending on which session you look at) and more seat time. 4.7 seconds quicker this year. Probably the tires. I lost a second in timed runs from my best practice run 2 sessions before timed runs. That's the way it goes.

Kudos to Jad who killed me (and everyone else) in timed runs and to Glenn who buried what was left.

Can't wait to do it all again at Buttonwillow. :)

Interesting that for the top 10 BRIs, 10 out of 10 drivers had SLOWER second lap times. Were tires hotter? We we trying too hard, and not being as consistent?

I think that is a recording/posting anomaly - all drivers are shown with their fast time first. I am 90% certain that my second lap was my fast one.

Agree with Kris. My best lap was also the second one.

Kris, sent you a PM about the G2X track maps. My e-mail is obristintegra@aol.com

Dan,

I think he was a club member of Spring Mt. He passed Glenn and myself on 127 going to the track. We passed him on the track. At first I thought it was you. The Goofy colors and all of that.

My time dropped 7 seconds from last year, which was my first year doing time trials. I'd guess it was mostly seat time and later apexes. I did use Hoosiers rather than Advan Neovas, and Jae put on some stiffer springs and adjustable shocks, though one of the shock seals blew. That's about it. I was pleased to be only 2 seconds behind Bernie and Peter.

Since last year:

1. I turned 66 and retired (less stress, more time to prep the car).
2. I blew my 3.2, J & E pistoned, special cam, Volker prepared engine.
3. Bought a core 3.2 from LA Dismantlers, removed the fuel fire damaged injection components, installed my PMOs from the other engine, didn't even adjust the valves, and installed in car.
4. Drank lots of merlot.
5. Changed rear camber from neg. 1 to neg. 3 degrees.
6. Invested the $10K I didnt put into rebuilding my engine into the stock market.

Results:
1. Lots of smoke from the engine
2. Improved times by about 4 seconds, bettering last years AM champion (JAEGER ME) by 2 hugh seconds, and getting my first BRI in the top 10!
3. Not bad for a 38 year old car. Anyone with one of them fancy GT cars want to swap even?
4. Lost 30% on my 10K in the market.

My elapsed time may have not been the best but I had a great time setting up a JS 911 Carrera, taking a few laps in a big torque 928 and a session in Roberts Lotus Cup Car... OMG, that car drives like a video game...

So I think it is safe to say I had a better "time" on my weekend than someone polishing their blue and orange paint. 8)

Time to sign up for BW Dan... unless you have an AARP rally to attend that weekend. :o

I also had some Mirage magic done to my suspension, combined with a diet, gave me a 5.5 sec better time than last year. Just think what might happen if I drove the car more than 3 times a year!
