Jad/Dan,

Bill and I drove the lot and designed as we went. So, the track's been designed around all the various parking lot issues. If we can lay it out as designed, any variance from what you've already seen should be quite minimal. That said, getting the cones in all the right places can be a challenge at 6AM :?

 Nice! Reminds me of the good ol' days when Carl, Gary and I would drive the tracks on Wednesday's prior, and then go for a cold one :beerchug: . Way to go Don and Bill! You guys are alright. 8)

Stop dialing into that alternate universe for the club that's "almost-just-like" PCASDR.

Just following your lead, Dan. But, we didn't get a cold one afterwards, so we've still got one more step to take before we have this "wired".

Bill, what about that cold one next time? The club is buying, right?

on second thought the track looks like a giant

July 18th AX Results

Postby martinreinhardt on Sat Jul 18, 2009 8:27 pm

It was a great autocross. We had a big turnout which ran smoothly and finished early. Thank you Autocross and Cornerworking chairs for the hard work.

The results from today's autocross are posted http://results.pcasdr.org/event_standings.php?time_format=0&database=&event_date=2009-07-18 or the event site http://www.pcasdr.org/porsche_events/track_events/autocross/calendar/index.php

I just want to say - that was a GREAT track. The downhill rhythm section was perfect in the balance of distance and turn amounts and there wasn't any part of it that I felt was excessively tight/slow or that threw you out of rhythm if you hit it right.
That was also a great teaching track, with both right-hand and left-hand sweepers perfect for teaching throttle steering.
"Can we have some more, please?" - Let's repeat that one! :beerchug:

Thanks for letting us run with you guy's Image Image

Sorry we couldn't pedal the little 2.0 914 a little faster!!

CarlV was hooking up camera's and fried the Mallory dizzy we run.. right before timed runs.. Image so I slammed a crappy Bosch 009 we had as a spare (thank god we carry spares) and managed to time the car and get it running without missing a session

Not sure what else we could have done to get closer to Erik  Evan has NO track time behind the wheel of anything at this point, and from watching his in-car, it is hurting him a little bit in the fast road-course stuff. The plan is to remedy that very shortly with some track time for him :burnout:

Kim Crosser wrote:I just want to say - that was a GREAT track.

It was definitely one of the fastest tracks I have seen in the west lot short of a DE! I think that is reflected in the BRI results--only two cars from S or SS class in the top 10, and the first Novice class entry was 21st. Compare that to the 3/07 SE lot results where 8 of the top ten BRI results were S or SS cars, or the 4/11 west lot event where 4 of the top 10 were S or SS class and 3 of the top 10 were Novices and I think that says something about how different this course was! It paid dividends to HP, grip and experience, that's for sure.

BTW, the current BRI chart values shown on the club's BRI page http://www.pcasdr.org/porsche_events/track_events/bench_racers/index.php do not match the index numbers used in the results database for the 2009 events. Has that page not been updated to the current BRI table?

If that car had gone any faster, Brad, we would have to take up a collection to buy it, sell off the parts, and have it crushed!
