What is kicking my tail right now is that I am needing tires, I bought the correct offest 15" rims to run 225's...and can't find a 225/something/15 tire with a decent GSS treadwear rating Hankooks are out for months...I noticed that the discontinued Proxes R1-R were 140 rated so maybe I can find some.

Check with Steve Coe at C2. I saw a couple of stacks of R1-R's at his shop yesterday.

The Tire Rack site is showing availability as 05/08, but maybe they're being "optimistic." It's unfortunate, but street tires in 15" diameter are getting to be obsolete these days. About the only size you can count on being widely available is 205.

BTW, I don't want to give anything away because it will be out soon, but I really enjoyed your article about finding and buying Tuffy from Morgan while proof-reading this month's Windblown Witness!

The secondary has come to be: Just how good could you get a GSS car to handle, using only the points alowed? A case in point would be Paul's car Snickers, granted a different car, however what makes it such an amazing competetor is that it handles like a car several classes up while still being legal for ISS. Perhaps Tuffy is already at his limit? I am not necessarily looking for change...just curious about what "could" be done and this is the place for chatting that around...or....I think it is...right?

The reason Snickers performs so well has less to do with suspension setup and more to do with the fact that Paul has spent a lot of time fine tuning the "Nut" behind the steering wheel.

Historically, thats always been the problem with my cars. I say, keep it more or less stock... drive the bejesus out of it... upgrade parts as they break!

I do agree Paul is my sensei. His Corners of the Mind series is a must read. However, Snickers made even me look good when I drove it.
