Dan,

You did a great job of driving yesterday. I think with the final results you ended up 4th overall. The TTOD was by OCR member Mike Oest with a 1:52 something and Steve Abbott was right behind him with a low 1:53 in his Corvette. The 911 Design Porsche RSR was 3rd but I don't think you were too far behind it. It was a nice and fast track, but not as fast as it initially looked to me. Abbott got up to over 95 mph at the end of the long straight. Everyone seemed to have a good time and I think the GPX Region is now working with the City of Pomona to do a DE/AX there in the future.

I don't know if anyone was running open headers, but there were definitely some great sounding, loud Porsches there. No one ever mentioned a noise limit.
The Pontiac was so well behaved on the track that most of us (well, me anyways) were actually dissapointed. We all lined up to watch it roll, squeal and drift around the course but it was admirably stable and turned out a very respectable time without much fanfare. Kinda makes me wish I kept my Fairlane

Nothing was said about any noise restrictions at the event. Although there were several loud cars, I only remember one car with open exhaust, which was an original factory-prepared 1968 911S race car decked out in a pretty blue and white SCCA D Production paint scheme. Will's '67 911S was close to having open exhaust, but with baffles in the megaphone pipes to lower the noise a few decibles. I think if noise becomes a concern to neighboring properties, existing noise restrictions will be enforced. Even though mufflers were required when they ran weekly street drag races there, I think noise was one of the concerns that forced the move of the street drags to the Auto Club Speedway a few years ago.

Hey Dan, you were robbed! I just received the official results from Skip Carter and even though your times are shown correctly, you are not listed on the top 10 times. They have me listed as third fastest and I was 2 seconds slower than you. I think the reason is that you and David Rosen were the only two AM cars there, but you are the only ones with no class designation next to your names. The computer probably requires a class designation in order to be listed on the top ten times.

However, overall, it was a good day for the long hood FI Class as we had three drivers in the top ten overall times, one being my son Eric who has not driven our car nor driven in an autocross in at least two years.

Close battle with Michael and Steve! Michael did a double header taking 3rd on day one behind (Steve E. in his gt2 and Rad in his f430) at the SCCA Divisional on sat @ El Toro.

Here is the GPS of the track layout, there were a couple of chicanes and a slalom but had to denote here. Great track and perfect weather. i don't know yet overall results but when I left I was 3rd TTOD with a 1:58 (118.xx) behind the 911 Design 997 RSR and Steve Abbots Corvette. How did you do end up doing Cajundaddy?

Well Dan, nice driving. It looks like you got me this time... even nipped me in BRI I figure. I hear they are still cleaning the Gulf livery off all those cones though .

Out of a field of 11 Boxsters/Caymans I managed 2nd. A good day. Til next time...
