The advantage to driving a 944 is that it can be controlled and not driven through fences.

All I can say is that I'm going to get my faded guards red paint job buffed out to make it a nice shiny red!! Then, I won't have to give so many point bys because it will enable me to drive FLAT OUT!! :D

Actually, I think Dan A. is just one of the many, many drivers that have moved down from a 944 to a 911. Let's see, I know of a couple off hand:
Ralph Linares
Jad Duncan
Steve Grosekemper
Mark Kinninger/Erik Kinninger
Greg Phillips, Sort-of (928's to 911)
Some loud-mouthed bald guy with a stupid 'RS' sticker on his SC ... what was his name?

Anyway, I think they're all just longing for the old days of point-by's ... having to give them that is. :roflmao:

Yep, leading for a moment anyway.

If the #8 car hadn't bumped the #4 car, results would have been:

1st : 911
2nd: 911
3rd: 944T

As it was, it was:

1st: 911
2nd: 944T
3rd: 911

:?: How do you "lead" from 2nd (or 3rd) place? (...and yes, I'm now an "Airhead" ... or as I used to call them "Rear-engined Lawn-Blower"! :roflmao: )

Dan, I wondered this myself until I read his post carefully. He dosn't say that he lead ALL of them...just that he lead "a bunch" of them. Since the large percentage of the pack were 911's his statment is completly accurate.

David, Great link! it was an exciting race.

John, why do you think I call my car "The Black Pearl." Evil. Haunted. It's occupants are the Ghosts of a Water-Pumper Past. Very Dark. Very Dark, indeed.

Faster-Pastor, you are correct; the 951 did keep a few cars at bay. I 'spose it's all a matter of interpretation. 8)

Actually, It was just something i saw on Rennlist the other day and it reminded me of this thread,
C'mon guys....Red 944....obviously driving..."Flat-Out", Meh, I thought it fit.

The leading part was the part while he was in front...I did not say winning!!!
Sheesh!!, These Tail draggers are a testy lot!!!.....;-) and actually, he kept a lot of cars at bay.
5th was a lowly S model.

Thanks for coming to the rescue Mark! Us water pumper guys gotta stay together!

Here is another round of 944 antics for your viewing pleasure. :beerchug:
