I'm in, and I'd like to bring an instructor with me. I've heard if I throw him out after a lap or two my time should decrease. I need all the extra help I can get. :D

How about, "The sun was in my eyes!" Or "The wind took it!" Wait,.........that last one only works for baseball.

it's Stephanie, and yes, please sign me up. I'm sure any instructor assigned to me will be thankful for the opportunity to *not* have to ride along. :D

Tim, I have heard several times "the wind blew me off line in turn 8 or 9 at Willow", so its not just for baseball anymore! Excuses know no bounds

Thanks Mike! I'll use some, if not all of them after the event. I'm just getting warmed up now with the pre-event stuff.

The 944-spec Challenge car will be different this time.
We'll be using the red 944 with limited slip differential this time. That should cure some of the wheel spin problems we had with you lead foots in the black and white non-LSD 924S!
Gotta get sensitive to that wheel spin.......You're losing time!

Well the old 24 just broke down before I got to give it a go. :(

Couple of thoughts on the 944 Spec Challenge:
1) I overheard that the car shouldn't really be driven above 6000 rpm.
2) There ought to be a cap on the daily number of 944 Spec entries if the series is to continue. We probably maxed out the system today. Two per run group seems to be about the most that can be squeezed in.
3) I like the idea of the matched series. I think a lot of us do. It'd be better if drivers in the series had scheduled times within the run grouping. ie "Bryan, you will drive during the White group practice session."
4) Donations vs. paying for the car. It's Tim's business, for the pinion, labor & tires; did he make a buck? Additionally, I'm not sure what happened with the car and/or why, but it would definetely suck to have the breakdown (and repair?) on my watch. It might be better to really nail this one down to prevent bad feelings in the case of a future mishap.

Big thanks to Tim for putting on the 944-Spec challenge. This was my first time driving a actual race car and it was a blast! After driving the 944, the first lap in my 993 with street tires was 'interesting.' It just did not claw the track the way the Spec car did.

I hope that the even can be held at future AXs.
