I think if I grin much more my face might break. It seems it was a fast weekend as I count it there were 10 new lap records...including some guy in the ISS class Congradulations everyone!.

The morning conditions were fast, but by the afternoon, I think the track was actually a little slow.

Yes, it was really hot in the afternoons, and several of us felt our engines going a bit off. The last few years we ran this track in November. Any idea why we ran in September this year?

I agree, a great weekend! Interesting about the feeling of a slow afternoon track as my two best laps of the weekend were in my timed runs in the very last timed group out. You know, when the announcer said, "2:25 and under....2:26? Well ok....anyone who hasnt run yet come on out!" Maybe my street tires liked a hotter surface?

I ran my two fastest times of the weekend during timed runs by about 1 second. Does that mean there's another second out there because of the weather? I know, I know, there's always another second out there.

After a poor showing at Spring Mtn, Jae Lee aligned and corner balanced the car, and a few other minor adjustments were made. When I got on track, couldn't get more than 5200 rpm so came back in. Phoned Jae, he suspected the flywheel speed sensor. Since that hadn't been touched I was skeptical and not eager to get under the car to check it. I talked with Steve G - he explained how to pull the DME connector and check several voltages at various speeds, which confirmed the speed sensor problem. Then he brought over his tools, adjusted it, and I was back in action. I missed a few sessions Saturday, but learned more about the car and enjoyed the field troubleshooting, especially with less than ideal tools. After fixing a loose connector, the car ran great on Sunday.
