320 points for a turbo S from the chart in the rules.
add points for tire width 245 & 225? That would be 40+20=60 points.

Car is 320+60=380 I think.

Hey Kim, did you forget to add points for tire width, or are you running 205's and 230's?

p.s. Depending on tire width, I'll be in CC8 or CC7, including a whopping 99 points for an engine swap that added only 0.2L of displacement. I'm gonna get spanked by (993/996/997) Turbos, 996 GT3's and race cars in these classes until they correct the engine swap factor. (Oh well, at least I won't be alone anymore...)

I agree TOTALY with you on this one Steve. Instead of the Models being listed near the points in the pdf they are in "Appendix C Model Chart" printed page number for your car is "44" however when I open it in acrobate reader the page in the reader reads "52" (I guess this is because Acrobate Reader counts the title pages etc)

Annnnnyway it is there and your base points are 320.

Cheers!

I think I'm in CC13 with my '68 911 as long as I continue to ballast up to stock weight, but CC12 if I remove ballast and take the mod points for weight reduction.

Base points = 170
Tire points = 0 (205s all around)
Mod points = 230

Total = 400 points

I'm about in the middle of CC9 with 570 points (base car is 320).
2010 very bottom of KP with 10 points (KP is 10-20 points).
I think this new system is going to help revive the competitive juice, there were far too many classes before. I'm looking forward to competing for a class win that actually means something and not just the (unattainable as long as the Smurf is there) TTOD. Yeah, the rest of us have fun racing for second, but.....

Hmmm... A couple of interesting things here. I am running 225s on the front, but have 255s on the rear (stock 17" wheels/tires). I was also using the online GGR calculator, which calculates differently than the Zone 8 rules, AND I forgot that the "standard" 986 Boxster used a 16" wheel (did they ever actually sell one with a 16" wheel - I have never seen on with less than the 17" wheel).

So, recalculation time:
GGR = 325 base points + 90 points for wheel size (7.5 f, 9 r) = 415 pts = AX 12
Zone 8 = 320 base points + 70 points for tire (225-205 = 20, 255-205 = 50) = 390 pts = CC13

Thanks for keeping me honest! CC13, not CC14. :surr:

I'm in the middle of cc5 with 850 points. 1996 993 C2 with a few mods and a lot of weight reduction. Oh yeah, really wide slicks didn't help the points either. The good news I don't have to run against Jad in cc6. :D

Kim, What's the tread wear rating on your tires? Anything below 200 takes at least 20 points (140-199=20 pts, 50 -139=40 pts, less than 40=60 pts, race tires or slicks = 80 pts)

They are rated right at 200, so zero points for the Dunlops. :D

Depending on tires my 986 S would be SS3 or CC11.

My 2.4L 914 would be CC11 too.

Thanks for posting the classes here boys. It would be great if next time you register on Motorsports Reg, you could add this information. (Only 10 people have posted their new classes so far). Here's one for the powers that be. Several people who ran all their events in Novice Class last year are signed up in Novice class this year. How's that work? The new system is having Ladies classes???? Really? Where's the poll for that one? I'd appreciate any comments. :burnout:
