You are right Steve, that is what it takes, a lesson for everybody if you can afford it. That was an impressive time you posted, congratulations! As I told you, too close for comfort for me. Urgently need to find the horsepower I am missing but I still haven't figured out where those horses are hiding.

The track is great as you had advertised, much better than what I thought it would be. Thank you Jack and Robert and all volunteers for the flawless organization. See you at Buttonwillow Steve and Greg :)

They did a great job and you will find some shots you will like, even if you are in the dirt :roflmao:

Sheez - I spent PLENTY of time in the dirt, and the only ones they have of me are on the pavement (boring). :surr:

Since my driving was "Down and Dirty", you can find some low-angle videos from Sunday on our web-site;

Great Weekend!

Thanks to Robert and Bob and rest of TT team.. Well done!
Awesome track and very technical. Bring your own mostly everything weekend, but great fun. The Desert Cafe (in Town) had a decent burger, great Shake, and wanting more opportunities/coaching stay open racing hours.

Loved it when Jerry was spinning off and waiving at me as I was nose to nose with him at 70 Mph. (at 30 ft)
So I, being thankful for his AX chairman and friendship to the cause, smiled, saluted, and then spite to my friend, as he went to dirt...
Long live the level runoff areas, and racers who run Flat Out and exceed to use them!

Sorry I, nor RSR, could not fix the Browns; 968 Alternator charging problem.

Looking forward to watching video's from my heroes in PCA.

Good times and amazing nights and stars.

Thanks all,

Jim

Here is the video of the session I was playing with the owner and his Vette. Our times were all in the 1:56 and 1:57 range.

http://youtu.be/d2cSlF9nBmw

For an interesting comparison, open two windows and start Mark B's video while my video is paused at the 4:04 mark and start both videos for a visual comparison of the two cars and the speed variations in real time...

Watching the video, I think you may have done a better job hitting the apexes than I did. I was definitely missing them by more than I would like too often :banghead:

I want to go back and beat that track... I feel it won this time, next time sub 1:55 for sure

However, as a Professional: The tires were corded, I was new to the track, it was too hot, too windy, the car was down on power and the sun must have been in my eyes

Jad, as a Professional, I believe you could have corrected those problems by simply relocating the engine to the front of the car! :roflmao:

I disagree, Paul and Steve tried that several times without success on those laps. Jackie and Otto tried the reverse several laps, again without success.

Wind and no sandstorms?? Last time I drove at Chuckwalla, it was like driving on the Dakkar Rally. :D Have they also resolved the towing vehicle and emergency access roads issues?

The dirt off track was much looser back when I went in October as the grading was new. It is much more compact now and I never saw sand on the track that someone didn't put there by an off.

We had to supply our own tow vehicle and crew (Big thanks to Phil Corwin for a job well done) and there are no emergency access roads like there is at Button Willow. But there are none at Big Willow either.
It's a new track, improvements will be made and it's a lot of fun just the way it is.

Yes, Thank you, Phil, for the tow back to the paddock after my clutch disintegrated.

Not only was Phil the tow vehicle, on track mechanic and parts supplier to many, he was a great cook for several TTers. He missed the applause at the drivers' meeting because he was doing the dishes! Life is good for me :P
