Don't stop yet, come on down to the Buttonwillow Double Crown event Nov. 3-4.

PCA Club Race and TT with DE/Test & Tune on Friday Nov. 2. :beerchug:

And closer than Sears Point :roflmao:

You and a few others got me thinking about it --actually more than thinking (I'm putting a back brace in my 996 to be PCA legal). Got a few more things to do before I make a final decision.
I think Mike raised the question as to what config they're going to run. Do U know?

lets hammer some 3.2 cars at Chuckwalla soon. :beerchug:

Maybe DQ will have better luck with 3.2's at Chuckwalla then he did at Big Willow. His first time there, he almost beat a 944S. I'm sure he'll be faster now

Yes, doing Infineon - trying to learn from watching your video done in 2007 (I think).

Also running Buttonwillow CR (and TT) the week later, then the December WSIR event (talk of another Enduro there).

The Fontana Enduro was tough as my cool suit broke 10 minutes in, and it was 102°F in the shade. Still I managed to run an average
of 1:59 for the 65 minutes with several 1:58 and 1:57 laps (don't laugh, but for my car that's a decent time), and win by more than half a lap.

Do consider the Buttonwillow event, since POC is BWRP-less this year!

Now, Mark...
That's really not a fair assesment.
Dave did have some good laps over the Willow weekend; after all he is a racer and it just takes him longer to get up to speed. (At least that's what he told me)
Getting it done in two laps is just not his forte.

Think of Dave as an old man climbing out of his rocker on the front Porch(e) all slow and bent over to start but after a while he starts waking almost upright.
After a few laps around the block he will get into a rythum and might even bust into a slow paced speed walk... watch out he may surprise you new young 911 drivers with little 3.2L motors. :roflmao:

And as an added inducement for new racers or those racers who have not renewed their PCA license this year, if you sign up for the Buttonwillow Club Race and get a 2012 license, they will waive the licensing fee for 2013!

John, it seems such a shame to imprison it in your garage. So, I would offer to "exercise" it at BW for you if you decide to run your GT4 car.
Of course I am only thinking of what is best for the car! :D

John,
Just a datapoint for you, which may or may not be useful. I see you put up a for sale ad on Rennlist. The guy who replied to your ad (username "Claykos") saying he "wished I still had mine" went through a similar sale early this year. I was sorely tempted by his car, which was a lot like yours, except a '74 tub w/ a 2000 GT3 Cup drivetrain. He's from AZ and I never saw the car, so I can't comment on the build quality, but he started out asking $62.5K for it late last year and ended up selling it for $40K in the first part of this year. He had bought a 2000 GT3R factory race car and needed to move the old one, I think. The market for race cars is pretty depressing these days, just like the rest of the economy.

Here's his Rennlist ad thread.

Here's his Pelican Parts FS thread.

Looks like he's been trying to sell the GT3R since March of this year too: http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/porsche-cup-cars/685051-for-sale-maybe-2000-gt3r-ex-lemans-daytona.html
