I met Rene a Radical driver and the EVO driver in the red group.
Both were nice to me on track and in the pits.

A second Spring Mtn event during the ideal weather months would be fine.
That really is a nice layout and track surface.
Though it is a shorter drive to Buttonwillow or the infield at California Speedway.
I'd prefer to do two events at any of those 3 tracks over one event at Streets.
Is the Vegas track outside the speedway a good option?

I agree with Mike on this one. I finally found a track that I do better than my dad, so more events there is crucial for next year! :D

I like Streets. More fun than Big Willow IMHO. More technical. Keep it on the schedule.

I realize that Streets isn't everyones favorite, but it is the best course for new TT drivers. I haven't driven the infield of Calif. Speedway, but I think we should keep a stepping stone event in the mix.

I wouldn't be too big on another long distance event. Sorry, but Vegas area is a LOT further than BW even if the miles don't say so.

Personally, I prefer to keep long 5 hours+ trips to one per season. But, I like the idea of adding the California Speedway "Infield" to the progam and it's not too far.

California Speedway is closest of all tracks though I would think the cost might be prohibitive even for the weekend on the infield only.

Streets is a good venue for new drivers to get their feet wet though WSIR is also good. I remember starting at WSIR thinking it was fast but after a day it is really not bad even for new drivers.

I would vote for other events like Vegas or even PIR. I am sad I had to miss SM this past weekend.

I would like to suggest that we try and pick venues where there are facilities like tire changing, garages, rig hook ups, etc. Like other clubs our club members have additional needs beyond the average drive to the track and drive home in the same car. I personally cannot get by any longer without tire changes during the weekend so having to prepare to not have them is not very attractive.

Just some thoughts...

I like Cal Speedway but most of the groups that run just the infield charge around $250 per day or $400 for the weekend, which is too much money in my opinion. Streets is fun but there are so many other events there that it isn't anything special to visit (POC STS is there 8 times a year). I couldn't make it to Spring Mountain this year but I enjoyed the track last year and hopefully I'll be there next time. I would like to see more events there but wonder how many will make the trip. Another idea is to run two events at Buttonwillow, once CW and then CCW, that would be fun.

I have heard the cost is substantialy less using just the infield at Cal Speedway. I can check with NASA who I beleive runs the infield only to see cost. Maybe a Zone 8 event there would bring more cars? Or a combined SDR and OCR event?

Great event - thanks Jack and Robert!!!

Mike, thanks for the ride, it was fun. Glad we could help you shave a few seconds off. Guess 1 more session was needed to edge out Jae

Good job Paul Jr. Smart beating him by just a little, so he thinks he can catch you next time

Bummer about your engine Martin, it would have been interesting to see what kind of time you would have ended up with.

I think that is my favorite track. It seems to have everything except location and facilities, but when you are driving, it sure is fun :D

I also must highly recommend going to Vegas for 1-2 days after the event. Towing home Tuesday was a breeze with no traffic and plenty of rest. Easy flight up on Sunday night for the rest of the family.
