This was a great track for students to learn on and get comfortable at a big track. It was fun to be able to dice it up with some of the early 911's (Dan, Terry, Carl) and the 944 spec guys (Morgan, Leigh, Greg). Jackie is still ahead of me by quite a bit. :banghead: My best time was a 1:22:54 and it felt like I could take some more time off if I could just drive a cleaner line in a few places. I found the run group sizes to be just about right and drivers in my run group were great about point bys. Thanks to everyone for a great day!

Thanks to everyone who put in the efforts to make this happen. For those of us that focus our driving on the Time Trial series, it was nice to get some seat time in between the long gaps until the next TT. I would be willing to do more of these so count me in if you want to book more dates (next month please  )

I ran a 1:16.82 which was okay for me as last year for Fathers Day I ran this course with Speed Ventures and could only manage a 1:18.52

Keep trying: pretty soon you'll be chasing Kratina and Jackie as well :D How'd Brian do? LMQ: NTN 8) Hope the club continues with these big track DE's.

I agree there should still be at least one DE at Qualcom to get drivers intimidated by a track for their first DE experience.

Don't forget Saturday August 8th DE at the Q!

This one will mimic Rockingham Image

I will echo all the comments here, a great fun event and well worth the day off! I didn't get a time due to a dead battery on the hot lap, and Dave Q did everything he could to make sure I couldn't find one... I felt it was at least a 1:13.9 though

Thanks Again everyone!

I don't know what you are talking about  :banghead: Can I still pass tech if I take out my mirror? 1:19.78 That was a blast!

Registration for the next Time Trial, October 17-18 at Spring Mountain, opens tomorrow morning at 7 am. See the direct link below. For those of you who did the Fontana DE and were new to big tracks, the first day and a half of a Time Trial is simply a DE, with multiple run groups, passing rules, and the same exact safety requirements. In addition, each car has a transponder on it (which you can rent) so that we can be sure everyone is driving in the right group for their car/skill level. Participation in timed runs at the end of the second day is optional. More information can be found on the SDR website as well as on MotorsportReg.com.

They dumped Streets on September 13, and are doing the infield at Funtana.

They dumped streets in favor of Fontana on the Sunday. It will be an AX not a DE.

Thanks all for a great day even though it ended short due for me to a puncture and overheating (Ferrari 308 ... doh!). Ended up BS'g all day with a few guys I hadn't seen in a while too which was great.

Anyway here's some video from behind the wheel ... no surprise she was getting hot ... I was driving 'er like a Porsche ;) ... or should I say trying to :).

Yes, it may be an AX, but the 'practice sessions' are multi-lap, multi-car scenario's.

So a little taste of passing cars in the morning finished by a timed lap cap in the afternoon.

That's like a "best of both worlds" set-up: catching and passing your buddies during practice, and comparing times/BRI results in the afternoon. In my case: pointing bye all my  buddies in the morning and excusing :banghead: away my lousy times in the afternoon. :roflmao:

Hope I can make it. :beerchug:
