Classify your car for 2012

A place to hang out and discuss all things Porsche.

Ok that makes sense now if the base points are excluded  (I admit I didn't read the fine print :surr: ). Only cars with wheel-spacers (factory or aftermarket) or cars with >400 mod pts will have to install the wheel stud converter kit.

Note: There are some Porsche models which come with wheel spacers from the factory. (Wide bodies, Turbos, Factory option, etc.)

This is a great tool, but there are currently cars listed multiple times with different mod points. :? I guess it's not accurate information until everybody figured out in which class and mods they will be running in 2012 and list their car only once.

CC11 looks like it will be the new KI :D

I think I may have to have a passenger, or lead, so I can join you all in cc11

I think I may like the new system. Our car seems to do very well point wise unless we are making mistakes somewhere.

Jad, in AX , yeah probably ok. But for a TT?? If you are remotely close to CC11 it is definitely flawed in its structure.... :banghead:

Just in case Jad decides to join CC11, start polishing Jad's Voodoo Doll :roflmao:

Although I'm ok with Jad in CC11, as long as he runs 180 Snow Tires :-)

It's going to be a fun 2012. If that many people will be in CC11, I am definitely thinking to TT, at least when the TT events fit between my other racing schedule. :D

I have to pipe in here now. I'm the only chick in CC11 so far and I have a feeling I'll be asking for tires for Christmas, Anniversary, Valentines Day, Birthday, etc etc. Sorry Martin.

But, why are there so many cars in this group? Sheez!

Looks like I wont' be in cc11, forgot the new control arms we needed were upgraded for added strength, but also allow more camber, so thats 20 points and we are not even close to cc11, so I will stick with cc13 unless a really fun class appears somewhat close :banghead:

Jad, stay in CC13...all that talk about 11 and 12 was making the Avitt's feel abandoned and unappreciated!

They don't usually exactly welcome me into their class - especially Angela tends to be rather unhappy about me being in her class! :burnout:

Add your car(s) -- see where you stand alongside everybody else.

Warning: Consider this to be round two of the beta testing -- things may need to change and you may have to add your cars again at a later date.
But I think it is looking pretty good.

If you participated in the original Beta Test, you need to enter your car again, I wiped the database

Yes, from the first page :^)

Tom is till working on that page, there is a link under the "About" tab from the classification website but the 2012 documents are not done yet. :surr:

I think getting the classing website up has take some time

Interesting how that works, isn't it. Can't live with them, can't without them. I would bet if you would consider moving into CC14, she would be very appreciative and feel much better about losing you as a fellow class member....

Believe following clarification from Tom Brown to a question I posed to him might be helpful to all as we try to classify our cars under the new 2012 Rules:

Question: My understanding was that if one does any reprogramming or change in the ECU/DME Chip, you HAVE TO use the DYNO path for classification of your car and the other options of classification are closed to you. Am I correct? I do understand that if THE ECU/DME CHIP IS STOCK AND YOU HAVEN'T TOUCHED IT you can use alternate classification options, but NOT SO IF THE ECU/DME CHIP HAS BEEN REPROGRAMMED or is a DIFFERENT CHIP THAN STOCK.

Tom's answer: Yes, you are interpreting it correctly. The old rules did not penalize remapping or reprogramming (chipping) the car. The new rules do penalize it.

I, for one, will have to follow the DYNO path for classification and will have to provide the respective DYNO results. Unfortunately I am still not sure what the power level will be because my car is still not boosting correctly. Hope to have the problem resolved soon so that I can be back at the track with all of you :)

Open-ended steel lug nuts are required for all cars

Does this mean that everybody with newer cars will need to convert to studs? Isn't that a bit overkill and expensive for AX and TT?

Many thanks to Jim Duncan for pointing out that I put incomplete text of the rule on the classification site. This only applies to cars that have lug nuts and wheel studs. The site is updated.
