Great idea Paul, with the soup cans.
I used some 2-1/2" turned tips with stainless steel pads and wired them in, by the second session it looked like tinsel from a xmas tree coming out  But it worked as I was hitting 95-96db @ the last Q DE and never saw a black flag the whole weekend @ Laguna.

This is one track I've always wanted to do and it was well worth the trip and expense, it has to be my new favorite. The camp sites were very nice with great showers and bathrooms and it felt like two different venues with racing during the day and camping with beatiful morning / night views all at $30.00 a night with water and 30amp hookups.

Turn 3 & 4 seemed to give me the biggest problem, the corck screw 9 & 10 were my favorites. Track surface was excellent and was easy on tires and brakes on my 2450 lb car. Had alot of fun with Jackie pushing me around the track, got close to a POC record in JI in timed runs with a 1:48.9.
Thanks to John P. and all the other POC members who put this event together as I'll always remeber my first time @ Laguna. Really impressed with our group of PCA drivers and how well we all did on this great track.
Can't wait for next year!

This is a test to see how to upload pics to Picassa and how they come out here!
If you click on this link, then click on "slideshow" for the best image
http://picasaweb.google.com/Johninrsf/SDRPCAers?authkey=vursBvLa5U8
FWIW, using the "IMG" button did not put this image into this post
Then using the "URL" button, we wind up with a link.
Anyone know how to get a pic embedded in a post?

I just uploaded my CD from Dito Milian @ http://www.gotbluemilk.com. The pics are great: http://www.kurquhart.net/photos/Porsche/1990%20Carrera%202/08-08%20Laguna%20Seca%20TT%20(Dito%20Milian%20www.gotbluemilk.com). This one is my favorite, since I never actually saw this viewpoint since my eyes were always down the corkscrew.

JHPGT3: to post a pic like this, bring up the picture in a web browser. Right click on the image and select "copy image location". In the post, click on "Img" and then paste the image location that you just copied. This is how I do it with Firefox; other browsers may be slightly different in detail, but the steps are the same.

I am too impatient to wait on the official results to be posted. So, I created a document based on the Unofficial POC TT Results and sorted the results by lap times as we are used to seeing it. I thought I'd share it with you guys.

Tawfik where are your times?

My times were not posted due to the fact that teir SW took my txpder readings and assigned it to someone else who rented the same txponder at the previous event.
I talked to Laurie yesterday and they are trying to resurrect my time and someone else's (same thing has happened to other drivers).

Once that s done they will post the official results.
From her records, my TT time is 1:45.24

Official results finally posted (hopefully, it's all sorted out).

A number of us we're talking at dinner Friday night at Laguna Seca about how it's a "Momentum" track - It rewards keeping the speed up.
My thinking through several corners was not "Brake and Turn" but rather "Settle the car and Continue".

Here's an interesting factoid related to this; With my 911SC on 23" tires, I never got into fifth gear, yet my average speed was about 75mph.
I'm sure others had similar situations that show how much Laguna Seca, even with all the turns and elevation changes is a "Momentum" track.

Again, the POC folks were great, and the PCA attendees did EXTREMELY well!

Thanks Paul. But I wish they would post the official TT results on mylaps.com soon.

Fantastic track. It would be even better with shorter gears and no sound patrol :D at Laguna Seca, as I never used my 5th either.

You did better than I did, I only used 3 gears of a 6 speed...somewhere up in 4th gear never near 5th gear. I could have used a 3 speed LOL!!!
