I worked that last timed session and it had been a while. I even had a helper but I was having a lot of trouble "seeing everything" 'cause cars would nudge a cone and be gone so fast ... I would look for the next car behind me and then scan all the cones to see if any had been budged ... in hindsite I think I should've chalked the cones better that were on the outside of the corner that a car would nudge so I didn't have to be right there in that zone to tell if they'd been hit ... made me a long way away from everywhere else on the corner so it was good to have a helper ... something to mention which you guys do anyway. I remember "chalk chatter" on the radios before. It is soooo much more intense during timed runs ... like I said it'd been a while and caught me off guard.

Personally I don't mind the corner working but 2 sessions for instructors ... I really respect that and seeing Martin and ALL you guys work your butts off always makes me want to do more ... then I don't even make it to an event for a while (sigh).

cheers all,

Sean

In the olden days, only experienced people and instructors worked the time run sessions. Since we went to the rotating run group format, that practice has been diminished somewhat. It seems like the old practice of having separation between the instructor and student sessions has gone by the wayside as well.

Thank you Mark for the Krispy Kremes! And thanks to you and everyone for setting up the track as well as Alamo Mexican Cafe for providing food. Where is the cafe located? Maybe we could have a paying last Tuesday Social or a club event there?

I really like Lucky Daves idea of having students go with a regular Driver/non-instructor, when needed. (That's the calls, Don can make on the spot. Thanks Don!) Plus they are suppose to be good in the corners and on there way to teaching down the road.

I have tag teamed 2 students on occasion and know; that I need another instructor for one's students session, or somebody misses corner working...

Jennifer,

You and the rest of the Reg Crew deserved more than Krispy Kremes, but it was the easiest bribe I could think of! (yep, I was one of the trouble makers who forgot to pre-reg)
Anyway, the Alamo is in the middle of Old Town, right next door to the Church.
Bruce Johnson (the owner and my sponsor) would luv to have us there for a social wingding, but it would have to be scheduled before summer is up as it is an outdoor venue. A wonderfull suggestion and any help in doing so would be greatly appreciated.
How do I go about setting something like that up with the club?

I sent you a PM Mark.

We need to support those who support the club. I read all the good reviews about the Alamo and want to try it myself now :D
