HEY ADAM!! :beerchug:

Yes, with the formula listed, it is not too hard to apply it to different marques for classification.

It works best I believe for those with sports-car heritage or intention, like the Lotus, Ferrari, Audi R8, Corvette, etc. But not so well for sedans designed for transportation as it assumes a suspension designed for handling and then uses the power to weight ratio to class them (with some factors for age as technology improves things).

yes I thought the same thing Greg. It provides a way to see where non Pcars fit in a competitive sense. I can't wait to see how I stack up in CC9.

I searched thru the points and couldn't find anything about a chip upgrade, for a friend, (the only chip I've got is the one on my shoulder) anyway, there must be some points taken for it,
maybe not.

Tom, Your points go up 60 additional points for the 710's. That puts you in CC11 with me. Since we were about 2/10's apart in time, I'd say that's accurate. Hmmmm. Maybe I need some 710's. :D

Nope, I'm in CC13 under the new rules w/ 400 points total. My tire points of 0 listed above is for width only (205). The tire compound points are included in the mod points calculation according to the new rules, and the 60 for the V710s is included in my 230 mod points. Check my answer to Gary in the other thread about the new classes.

Damn!! You drove your a$$ off at the AX. The only good news is that those tires will never be as fast again. Great driving. It's going to be a lot more challenging and fun with the new classes.

Ya, so true, but I am going to try to preserve them as much as possible by following the Kinninger playbook: Practice on old tires, then bolt on a set of fresher tires for the timed runs.

Tom,
You are forgetting to tell Mark about your new zero point transmission modification.
(One that actually shifts!)
That has got to shave a second of a 60 second lap... Don't you think?

Oh ya, the shifting thing. I guess being able to find the correct gear and not waiting anymore for them to mesh without grinding too bad might save me some time here and there...double-clutching is good exercise for my left leg, though...

It looks like I'm classed in CC9. 580 total points.

280 base points, 100 for tires, and 200 Mod points.

Let's get it on!

Chip upgrade

I think unless there is boost involved (turbos) there are no points for upgrading your chips.
Part of the problem is enforcement and the other is how much you really gain.

Agreed. On a Turbo car I think the HP increase should be used. On a NA car, a chip is essentially a wash in terms of lap times.

On another note, First TT of the season this weekend and the grid is full... Woot! Spec car drivers, bring your A game.

I'd plan on the Smurf being in CC6 possiby CC5 if I missed anything. Sorry for the Scare Jennifer :D

Just curious, what class did the Smurf end up in after consultation?
