If you are running POC the same weekend we are at Streets, you can do timed runs only for $25.

That's a great idea, if the schedule works out, except I'd hate to come over to The Streets, not having run there for a year, and try to put down two fast laps against fellow Class members who have been practicing at The Streets all week-end!!!
How 'bout including one practice session? :)
Thanks

Based upon inquiries, requests, etc., here is the policy for drivers running in POC's event at big Willow this coming weekend who would like to do timed runs with us at Streets. Note that you must hold (or purchase for an additional $10) a current Zone 8 Competition Permit in order to participate in any of the alternatives below:

POC drivers who want timed runs only at Streets - $25 WITH PRE-REGISTRATION

POC drivers who want timed runs only at Streets - $35 ON-SITE REGISTRATION

POC drivers who want the Sunday afternoon practice session and timed runs at Streets - $75 WITH PRE-REGISTRATION

POC drivers who want the Sunday afternoon practice session and timed runs at Streets - $100 ON-SITE REGISTRATION

To PRE-REGISTER for the above options, fill out the registration form located at http://www.pcasdr.org/img/2006/Calendar/TimeTrial/StreetsWillowApril22_23FI.pdf, include the appropriate price and payment info on the form, and mark the form by hand with either "TIMED RUNS ONLY" or "SUN PRAC + TIMED RUNS ONLY", as appropriate. PRE-REGISTRATION deadline for the above is Thursday, April 20 at noon.

Hey Robert and Jack,
Thanks for the nice offer. However after looking at the POC schedule, it doesn't look like it will work for me to come over the The Streets for a practice session. Have fun over there. I'll stop over to watch the action a little bit each day.
BTW, our POC Red Cup Race on Sunday runs from 3:00 pm to 3:40 pm. (on Sat, the race starts at 2:00 pm)

FYI, our Red practice right before timed runs on Sunday is from 1:30 to 2:00 pm, with the fastest cars doing their timed runs on warm tires immediately thereafter. We have purposely reversed the order of the final practice session in order to accommodate this.

Thank-you, Robert. The problem for me is that I am also doing the POC TT which runs from 1:40 to 3:00 on Sunday. I'll just have to play it by ear and see if there's time (and see how fast Dawson and Ehrman are in their practice sessions  ). Thanks for trying to make this work for us!!

How long does it take to get from Streets to the Big Track? You've got a whole 10 minutes, so quit complaining! Dang retirees...

On the serious side, you are doing very well with your driving, but even your recent 1:28 out there doesn't get you first on the grid with POC. TTOD last June was a 1:19, followed by a 22, 23 and a couple 24's. And those were in Jun., yours was in Jan. You've got plenty of time to go from your timed runs at Streets to the grid at the big track. Just make sure you have enough fuel and don't break anything while on the track at Streets

John,

Can you point me in the correct direction for the POC schedule and the PCA schedule? I'm running the TT in POC and I want at least one practice session with PCA on Sunday. I just ran streets backwards with the bowl 2 weeks ago with POC, so I'm fairly *warm* to the track.

I also wanted to thank the PCA SDR "brass" for even considering this "timed runs" option.
