...or you (your car) will pay the penalty. this happened at the end of the slalom when I spun and rolled backwards. the engine abruptly changed direction. although teh flywheel only moved 1-2mm. the heat generated instantaiously must have been intense to transfer material like this

where do I attach an image to this post?

here's the text associated with the images
I looped it at the end of the slalom. I was already on the go pedal hard when she lost traction. I did not expect it, didn’t even feel it start to come loose till...whoops (wrong line? marbles? dirty?) well, I did not push the clutch in fast enough and rotated the engine and trans backwards. The abrupt change in direction of all that mass rotating at 4000rpm was a rather violent affair. I did not photo document everything because this morning my camera battery was dead and I just wanted to get it done.

The flywheel and crankshaft were tight. They were in fact welded together from the intense heat generated. The locate pin was sheered off. The boltholes in the flywheel are ovaled out. The bolts were bent and left thread marks inside the boltholes.

The cooling fan sheered off all 3 bolts and the drift pin. The fan and flywheel are now toast

that transmision has also been damaged. lucky I finished rebuilding that trans last week. engine damage has all been repaired. it will be back on teh road tomorrow.
