Sunday's DE event

Postby Dan Chambers on Tue May 09, 2006 8:26 am

The word in the wind is: there's lots of room for more drivers at Sunday's DE. 8)

I know there are a few cars that didn't lose a nut :? , blow a gasket  , flat-spot tires in timed-run spins  , blow out their struts/shocks  , or otherwise come apart at SOW. So, sign up for the West Lot DE, and get your driving fix! Based on my information, there should be more track time than you can shake a cone at, and still make it home for Mother's Day Dinner with the family! :D

We have to keep those A-X Chairs busy, so come on down!! It should be a great day. Hope to see you there.

Dan -

The old 911 is in the shop, but I have a new BMW M3, would I be allowed to run this for the weekend?

I'll been in Phoenix watching other people drive their cars! So no AX, DE or Mother's Day.

Tim: Check with the A-X Chairs reagarding non-Porsche X cars (AX@pcasdr.org). They have to make that call. It's not up to me.

Better do it quick: written permission has to be in your hands before you can register .... and you're a little late for that, too.

And, of course, you'll have to pass Tech Inspection (including mounted fire extinguisher at a minimum for the DE) to participate. Hustle-up, Tim!

newbie q's

Postby kurquhart on Fri May 12, 2006 5:31 pm

I read the DE web page, but I still have a couple of questions:
    1. Is the schedule for DE the same as AX (e.g. 630am tech opens)?
    2. Is pre-tech allowed and/or encouraged for QDE?

Kris-
Yes, tech will open at 6:30am the same as with autox events. You may certainly have your car pre-teched, as you may with an autox, but you must still bring your car to the tech line to be inspected and signed off/stickered and to pick up your pre-reg packet (if you did that.) So really the only reason to pre-tech is to have your car looked over by someone who knows all the requirements to make sure it will pass. It won't save you any time in the morning.
