I just wanted to thank the AX track designers for some really good, new track designs for the SE lot and (the latest) West lot. These were challenging, even punishing if not driven correctly. Both were long and hard to memorize (or maybe it's just me...). I didn't think anyone could design the tracks like Gary B did, but as usual, I've been proven wrong-and I'm happy about that. Keep up the good work David K. (Oh, did I mention I like the track design even more when I win...?)

For those who might be "memory-challenged": the DE track design on Sunday was a "Gary Burch original," re-used with "permission." It was a great day with limited drivers, more track time than tires and gas could allow, and really great student/Instructors showing us all how it's done. And on street tires ....... well the word "drift" comes to mind........

I will say that I'm sorry I missed David K.'s track on Saturday. It looked really great when I saw it on paper, and from what I hear, really-really fun to drive. Having said that: I understand that two particular 944Spec drivers wrestled mightily with that track on Saturday. One driver (who will remain anonymous - I don't want to embarrass her ... OOOPS :shock: ) flat spotted the tires while another didn't have a timed run without "kissing cones" . Looks like I will have to return to "clean things up" at the A-X in July (Yea, sorry. I'll be "down-undah" in June and miss that AX).

I have to agree with Jackie, this was an outstanding track. Initially it felt like it had 50 corners, so it took a while to learn. Also very technical, making it hard to drive a perfect lap. Great job!
Then again this suited the gearing of the old 4-speed perfectly. I thought I had a shot at bringing home the goofy Dolphin trophy. Now that TT has retired the '67 I keep hoping my day will come. Nice drive Jad. I figured I need to lose only 0.3sec to beat your BRI time. So close, yet so far. Maybe next time.

They weren't the only ones. I spun on my first timed run for the first time in quite awhile. I'd like to blame it on cold tires, but the truth is I lost it by not looking ahead far enough ahead and thinking I was in the last left/right combo before the finish when I was actually in the section before that, which was tighter. My brain told me "you can floor it from here to the finish." It was a big surprise when I finally looked up and realized I had two corners to go and I was in way too hot.

Tom , I've heard that happens if you don't eat enough cookies before timed runs. Did you give ALL of them away at Tech? You know you should always save enough for yourself. Better luck next time.

I had only given out one bag at Tech, so I still had plenty of cookies left. I think I forgot the Coca Cola chaser to get the proper caffiene fix with the sugar rush. I totally went to sleep on that run.
