Simone's latest transformation, from Mirage RSR+ to EVO2.

Postby Mike on Sun May 21, 2006 3:07 pm

John Simone has made very quick progress on this re-body.
He expects it to be finished first weekend of June.
JS thanks for getting it done so quickly. :D

This Porsche has gone from 1969 911T to an early RS look.
This was followed by the short-lived RSR+ widebody and now finally the EVO2.
It'll get a good road test at the July Q-DE.
Then it’s back to the SDR TT schedule.

Looks sweet MG...can't wait to see how we stack up. Where 1 long hood goes away, there's another to take it's place

Thanks Jim.
I got a sneak preview of your new wicked ride, I predict the Yellow dog's bite will be worse than it's bark!
No doubt your big dog 3.8 should do butt drags on my AM class 3.6. :D
It will be fun and fast trying to chase you!

You get the road burn award, last weekend 32 hours straight towing from Chicago!!
Quickly followed by the PCA TT the this weekend.
Stir in some of that double strength ambition into my coffee please.
Have a blast at Buttonwillow. 8)

You are going to get ganged up on and beaten severely at the next R Gruppe event!

You have got to be public enemy #1 to those guys now.

Ok.... maybe public enemy #2, I think they're still looking for that Ricardo Cabeza guy.

I think it looks great if you're into that sort of fast Porsche race car sort of thing.  :D

So Mike, could you have purchased a 993 Cup Car with the current investment in that old AM class car? How about a 996 Cup Car? GT3-RSR? 917? Ferrari Enzo? :D

Looks great, Mike! I would like to see how you added up the points improvements to come up with "AM Class 3.6 widebody", though. That car looks awfully AR to me. :D

Looks great! Not sure what street legal road you could actualy drive it on as the car looks slammed, is it really that low or is it just the body work?

Yeah went inactive in R Gruppe recently.

As to the later it was true a couple years ago when we had that discussion at an AX. To you I say kettle black. :D

It's not as fast as newer Cup Cars (or expensive) but it is street legal and should go over 100 hours witout a rebuild.

Thanks Tom, I choose not to carry the one and I average down.
Even with this new math I can't run slicks.

It was lower before, for the 993 kit we raised it .75in.
Nice stance for the track.
Maybe cruise to the Q to watch an AX?
I will be avoiding the bumpy beach streets. :D
A street legal track car just adds a lot of value to me.
I've had dedicated race cars in the past that I missed being able to run around the block.
Slip in an extra seat cushion, soften up the shocks and secure a tight lid on my starbucks.
Maybe a gray wig to keep the cops cool?
