Update/Backdate Rules Question

I am considering "updating" my car to a 3.2 carrera in J class rather than competing in HI. The car has carrera steel flares, 6/7 x 16" fuchs, 3.2 stock engine, and 915 transmission. The points I am going to have to take are for brakes and adjustable swaybars. It has a "whale tail" and a rubber front lip: were those on any stock cars in those years or do I have to take aerodynamic points?

2662 lbs is listed in the pca club racing rules, is that ok to use for AX in order to calculate points for weight removal?

My last question is what torsion bars were stock for those cars and are there any other typical things people miss when updating/backdating?

Thanks

Alan - I'd have to look up the torsion bars, but I suspect they (or maybe sway bars too) are different.

I do know gear ratios are different - 2nd and 5th were changed between '77 and '84. In reality it
won't make a huge performance difference, but the rules are clear on this - 6 points.

Weight of the '84 Carrera is 1250kg (2760 lb) vs 1120kg (2470 lb) for the '77.

Paul.

I need to find the paper I wrote it down on, but I weighed my car at CFoS and it was 2650 or something. Using the pca club stock weight would mean I am pretty close. Using 2760, I am still about 100 lbs light and will have to take some points.

The gear box is from a later car, so gear ratios are stock for a 3.2. Right now I am thinking I have to take points for shock tower bar, sways, torsion bars, and brakes which equals 8 points and puts me in JS. If I end up taking points for weight and/or aero then I am up to JP and I might as well stay in HI since I probably will be far outclassed either way since the changes weren't made with classes and bang for the "point" in mind.
