Apology to Nitto tires

I posted a few months ago that the Nitto tires were not nearly as good as the Toyo RA1. Turns out I have to apologize to Nitto. About the same time I put the Nittos on the car, my suspension got messed up without me knowing it. Thus, I ran two events with the Nitto's and the car was a mess. I blamed the tires. Then I got my RA1's back on the car, and it was still a mess. Oops, maybe not the tires. I took it to Steve, and he found the suspension and bearing issues and fixed them. Watch out KP at the next AX, I'M BAAACK

So, at Pahrump on Sunday morning I did a back to back comparison as much as possible. What I found in comparing the Nittos to the RA1's, was that the car was actually a bit more stable on the Nittos and seemed to be just a bit faster (times were about the same, but conditions were better when I had the RA1's on, the car was slightly lighter, and I knew the track a little better). The Nittos do cost about 15% more even without shaving and I do not have a wear comparison as both sets still look good, but if I had to chose one to do a couple of timed laps, I think the Nittos would get the nod as being faster and easier to drive.

That is interesting feedback.

I was planning on comparing the Nitto vs the Victoracer. My Nittos felt like hard compound tires and were making squealing noises in some turns, but then it was early in the morning. My Toyos or Kumhos never made any noise.

Best appology you could make is to buy about 10 sets of tires from them at the same time!!!
