Any plans for your car during the off season?

Postby Mike on Tue Dec 19, 2006 11:32 pm

Mine, Copps, Fulco and Kinninger's 911s are all at Mark Tyler's Vicotory race paint.
Can't wait to see Copp's wild ride painted.
DR. Simone got any teaser photos from the new twins in your shop?
My Mirage/Simone photoshopped Jade Grenade paint concept ,this green is NQR.
What is everybody else doing to get ready for next year?

In the span of 6 weeks mine gets a new body, new paint, new shoes (FINALLY running slicks), new belts, new engine mgmt and finally gets the suspension set up.
Major props to Mark Tyler @ Victory and Jae Lee @ Mirage for making it happen...I'm the poster child for instant gratification
Is there no end to the madness?!

BTW...don't let that photochop of the Jade Blade fool you...it looks WAAAAY better than that!

New suspension (anyone want a factory 993 cup car suspension), new aero on the rear, and fire suppression system.

Mike it has been a really crazy year for me with very little time for the 914. So many choices for me 2.7, 3.0-3.2-3.6 $$$$ ???
So it looks like just another 2.7 with a bit more breathing.
All the other options would require new trans/axles and LSD.
The bottom end is done and top end is in slow progress.

My biggest issue has been a certain silver 911SC that keeps needing attention.

I will be out with Hector Wilbur's 911SC for Big Willow testing.
Less weight RSR front and rear bumpers with RSR oil cooler, hood and sunroof panel. (plus a few other little touches)

Pieces are getting painted as I write this.

Suspension was done for SM and worked flawlessly. So now just a little less weight and more down force should do the trick.

I am jumping back on the 914 after the 1st. Just not enough hours in the day...

The new car is getting a weld-in cage this week and then back to the body shop for paint. My new car will be similar to the brown car I sold with a few upgrades like turbo flairs, less weight and hopefully 1-2 seconds a lap faster than my old car.It will have a 3.6 from a 964 and will be street legal for trips to the stadium.I would consider a partner to share the car at autocrosses and a few time-trials a year with the potential for arrive and drive benefits.
