I would appeciate some guidance. I've emailed our Rules Chair but believe he is away. We have a new member who has tried to classify the car but still has some questions. (my DH is super busy w/ new job and I'd like to get this one finished and pre-registered).

Our new member would like to know class for AX and TT's.
Thanks in advance!

Car: 1995 911 993 Coupe (standard Carrera)

Mods:

Factory RS Body Kit
Factory RS Supercup Wheels
Michelin Pilot Sport Cups (80 treadwear rating. Widest tire is 285/30/ZR18)
PSS 9 Suspension Kit
RS Sway Bars
GT3 Seats
RS Shift Knob
DAS Sport Roll Bar
Harnesses
Rear Hoop holes filled in
Euro Front Bumper
Turbo Brakes
LW Flywheel
Factory Limited Slip diff
GHL Sport Mufflers
Stainless Steel Brake Lines

No engine mods have been done.

As I review the time trial technical reference sheet, my questions are:

Is my initial class definition “O”?
Do I add 2 points for my tires since they are between 270-285? In the Zone 8 rules booklet, it says only add 2 points if tires are 290-315. Which one is correct?
Do I only add 2 points for my PSS9 suspension or more than that?
I have turbo brakes. Are those considered stock rotors or should I add 3 points?
I have no idea if the car has had weight removed.
Is my RS aero kit, wing, bumper considered ‘commonly available’ on 10% of the car model or should I add 2 points?
Am I overlooking anything?

Jennifer, the 993 starts in NSS (when all stock), then with all the mods he has made, I would think he is in NP at the least. Could even be in MI if he has removed a lot of weight.
He is taking points due to:
- Tires being less than 100.
-Tires being 285 on a narrow body 993.
- PSS9.
- RS Swaybars.
- RS Bodykit adds points due to teh fact that it wasn t offerred 993's in the US.
- LW Flywheel.
-Turbo brakes on a narrow body.
Maybe someone from tech can confirm.

It looks like NP, depending on weight
2 points for 285 tires
2 points for 80 treadwear
2 points for RS sway bars
2 points for PSS9 springs (if not externally adjustable)
3 points for turbo brakes
2 points for limited slip
2 points for aero RS kit = 15 points 8)
Not sure if points for LW flywheel :?:

Jennifer,
Here is how the car points out after starting in class-N.

Factory RS Body Kit - 2-points for aero
Factory RS Supercup Wheels -
Michelin Pilot Sport Cups (80 treadwear rating. Widest tire is 285/30/ZR18) 2-points
PSS 9 Suspension Kit 2-points for springs 2 for adj shocks=4
RS Sway Bars 2-points
GT3 Seats
RS Shift Knob
DAS Sport Roll Bar
Harnesses
Rear Hoop holes filled in
Euro Front Bumper
Turbo Brakes 3-points
LW Flywheel
Factory limited slip diff 2-points
GHL Sport Mufflers
Stainless Steel Brake Lines

That makes 15 points and if there is weight removed that is 19 so the car is definitely NP.

Hope this helps

Steve, correct me if I am wrong but I believe that he takes 2 points for the MPSC and an additionnal 2 points for running 285's in the rear. So he is starting at 17 points. With weight removal > 51 lbs then he would actually be in MI !

Tawfik,
You are correct about the 2-points for 285's.
Opps!
But I doubt he has to take any weight points under the new weight rule.
Looks like near the top of NP.

Thanks a lot you guys! This was complicated and I appreciate your help. Jackie and I are trying to get cars classified correctly right off the bat!

NP it is!

Great!!! Another car to run against in NP. The more the merrier. We're a little short on cars in NP for AX but there are several running TT this year. Most of the TT guys don't run AX any more so another NP in AX will be fun.

It's just so lonely here in NP, I can't take it any more.

It will be nice to have another competitive soul like you to compete with and probably kick my butt. :)

Like I always say about my times, they're consistent, just not fast.
