Transponders for TT

Hello to all,

This is my first post on this forum. I'm a fairly new member and would eventually like to participate in one of the time trials. Sorry for the stupid question, but I have an AMB transponder from a go-kart. It seems to be a pretty sophisticated piece of equipment in that it can record lap times at various tracks that have the recording device and post the times on the internet site.

Is this what you guys use in TT or is it someother system? Can it be used and if so, where would it be mounted in a vehicle?

Thanks

Yes we use AMB transponders for our time trials. The battery operated ones are usually mounted on the bumpers or license plate frame area to trigger the timing loop.
Our timing software however is proprietary and not AMB's and I think that is the reason our laps are not able to be posted on their mylaps.com website.

Thanks for the tip. Whenever I schedule a TT, I'll get the info and how you guys secure the transponder on license plate so that it doesn't fly off with the bumps and vibration.
