Hi all, I'm new here

Hey guys, I see my name listed in this month's issue of Windblown Witness so I figure it's OK for me to post here and introduce myself. My name is Kurt Celis and I'm the new owner of Extreme MotorSports in Kearny Mesa. We've been an advertiser with the PCA SDR for as long as the previous owner could remember. I closed escrow on it in January and business is steadily picking up.

A bit about me... I said that I bought it, but it's really my wife and me, so a bit about us...
We are dual military, both active duty Army. Owning a shop has always been a dream of mine since cars are my passion. When the opportunity presented itself, I couldn't let it go. All plans for the purchase of the shop and coordination were done between missions while my wife and I were deployed to Iraq. I'm at about 12 years of service now, and plan to do at least another 8, yes I'm a lifer. Therefore, I won't be at the shop. That doesn't mean that I won't be active in the running of the business though.

John Heinz is still the shop foreman, and Jason Gustaveson is still the Service Manager. I did bring in some new blood though, his name is Blaise Baldeschwiler. He is the General Manager, and master fabricator. If you get a chance to stop by, ask him to see some of his work. We do everything from oil changes to full race builds, and also have an on-line catalog for OEM parts. Custom projects are welcome, and in progress.

I am a BMW guy (don't hold it against me) and so is Blaise. But as any of you know who have met John, he is all about Porsche. My personal daily driver is a 4 door M3 with over 600 RWHP. It's a fully built motor, running a T67 turbo, all built by Blaise. Blaise's fun car is a similarly built M Roadster, which usually resides in the showroom at the shop. His daily driver is a turbo charged Tundra. I'm also a big fan of turbo's.

Feel free to ask questions.

Thank you. Although I'm out here in Texas until early May hopefully I'll get to meet some of you then.

If you are at Ft Hood, drive East to the I35 and pick a direction. There will be a trailer dealer within 20 miles. That is exactly where/how I bought mine while visiting in-laws at Ft Hood. Cost about $1000 there for a new trailer, same one here is $2K.

Yeah, trailer dealers are all over the place here. But I need the trailer in San Diego since the car and truck are both there.
