HI GANG!

(Boy I hope I don't regret this:)

Well as the Auto-X Chair of OCR I think it's time for a little friendly competition between regions.

Now SDR being the "Goliath" of Zone 8 Auto-X and the rest of the regions just being a bunch of "Davids". (AS PROVEN BY THE PARADE RESULTS:) I propose a little friendly competition.

How about two events. One at Qualcom and one at El Toro. We use your BRI index. All Regions are open to compete. At each event the top 5 BRI positions of each region are added together and the region with the lowest combined total score wins the "DAVID VS GOLIATH" pertetual trophy each year.

I'm thinking maybe have the events in the last quarter of the year as the DAVID's still need more seat time:)

Lets just see if the boys and girls with all the pretty little cars in San Diego are really all that fast? ? ?

There are quite a few OC residents who belong to SDR because of the obvious influence of driving events on that region. I can name 5 right now. Now had we been interested in a region that had the most awesome Saturday morning breakfast club events we'd all still be OCR members.

Sounds to me like the BRI likes Steve's GT2. You know Steve we call the BRI the "Dolphin Waxing Index" because of how it is slanted to highly favor cars with less modifications. We all accept the BRI for what it is; a way to make drivers in the more stock classes feel good about being 13 seconds off of TTOD. Now of course the GT2 wasn't exactly what the BRI's creators had in mind when they came up with the formulas for "stock" cars.

And please, if you want to smack with the SDR members on the SDR forum, I'm afraid we're going to need a few pictures of you. We need the pics only to visualize who we are talking to. We don't need them for Photoshop.

Absolutely, its always good to put a voice with a face... thats what we told Jad Duncan too...such an unsuspecting soul...

OH! I forgot to mention a few more rules.
A. Anyone who lives North of.......Torey Pines is considered OCR since we are closer:)
B. I really need the event to be in the last quarter so I would have time to "recruit":)
C. ...and each teams scores must include one female driver. In OCR's case we could end up with 3 or 4!

As for a Photo. I'm a little computer challenged. How do I post one?

Having almost passed the 4th grade I did a few calculations and it seems to favor those fiberglass rockets you SDR boys seem to drive.
......SDR's: 300hp "fire breathing" race motors with 5 lb fly wheels divided by 2,000#'s vs OCR's 275hp motor that seems to use water and oil(never raced by Porsche) with 25 lb fly wheels divided by 3,000+ #'s.
.....and to rub salt in the wound SDR lets some 120 lb wipper-snappers drive there cars. Hey Eric, give me a call....Lets see if we can work something out! (Get you a nice Porsche to drive for OCR or we may just have to FEED you a lot of food! Having two boys myself I think the Porsche would be cheaper)

PS: The GT2 isn't STOCK! It has a "Tom Tom" GPS system so I don't get lost on course!

Hmmm... That would include at least Christy Copeman (0.28 behind Lisa Eguina in raw time last AX) and myself (Steve - you and I were #1 and #2 in the BRI at the June AX).
Are you trying to stack the BRI deck?
At least the BRI rankings allow us SS wusses a chance to see a ranking in single digits once in a while.
Now if you could just figure out how to gerrymander the region borders to include Jess Osterberg and his 914, you could OWN the BRI trophy.

By the way, where did you get that 275 HP figure? Did you disconnect the turbo or half the cylinders?

Just a note, if Bill had run in KP like his car is, he would have won the BRI with a 63.23 per my calculations and Tami isn't going to be far behind in the ladies class, so don't count your victory just yet unless Mt Helix is also in Orange County

Also, in such a competition, I may have to take 1 point off and run in KP as well with my 944 with almost as much HP as one of those 275 HP GT2's

Wonder if I should stay in OCR, or help out SDR? Steve E., what's it worth to ya?

Last time I was on any team, I was the anchor ... BOAT-anchor, that is! If I drive for OCR, it could be to SDR's greatest advantage.

All SDR drivers will be required to run sticker V710's or Hoosiers, so save a couple extra points everyone. I've got plenty of room left in KP.

It would appear that SDR has won the smack talking part of the competition so far...Where's your posse Steve?

That would work for me. Hopefully, my FP car will be ready to run again by then, and it has done pretty well on the BRI in testing at the first two events this year.

I think this is a brilliant idea as it's been awhile since I made it down to SD to shake up the BRI with my little FI car. Can we start at 10am though so we have time for a little breakfast first???

See? Some of you OC guys are alright! Add a couple of more points to your car(or count them all ) and come play with your fellow OC residents in AM. There are four OC guys who run in SDR AM.

Yes! The OCR team will be having brain muffins and ordering up a few extra "Maple Bars" for the SDR gang. That should slow you down a little:)


Our DEMT (Driving Events Mgmt Team) met last night and were looking forward to some FUN competition.

Once you have your Qualcom dates confirmed with your board let set a couple dates and get the word out to the other regions.
