I am looking for an A/C delete bracket and was wondering if any of you guys have one for sale. I thought I would check with the group before ordering it .

You don't really need an A/C delete bracket.
I have done several cars by simply removing the compressor and rolling on a new belt.
The key is having the perfectly sized belt.
Early cars use a 5PK850 belt. I have not done a late 944, but 968's use a 5PK835 belt. (I would imaging that is the belt for you.)
Late cars have 6 rib pulleys, but there are no 6 rib belts in these super short sizes. Not really an issue since you are only turning an alternator and you are wrapping the belt much farther around the pulley than in the stock application.
Be sure to use Continental belts.

So you keep the alternator high and use the same stock mounting bracket?

I have the alt delete bracket that Lindsey Racing sells, which was originally sold by Albert Broadfoot of Broadfoot racing in Jacksonville, FL. Drops the alt down low, but there is a 6 rib belt. Mine is Goodyear gatorback, Dayco also sells the short belt. Can't read much of my PN anymore, but I believe it to be 6pk0740. Paragon also sells a kit, but I have no direct experience with it.

Yes,
Everything about the alternator stays the same.
It is easier and cheaper, but the actual delete kit weighs less and lowers the CG slightly. The kit is better, but I like the simplicity of my version and the protection to the alternator it provides in those nasty off track excursions.

I agree on the lightening of the system and the lowering of CG,which is why I do the A/C delete bracket mod, but your point about not exposing the alt. to off road damage is a good one. Seen that before!

It is great to be in the midst of guys who know all the tricks---and are happy to share info. Thats what makes this club great. I followed Harnish and bought the Lindsey bracket--if the lower CG helps my time----I need all the help I can get-----Jackie C. is way too fast and I am tired of getting chick'd. I am pretty sure she has a Hemi. How else could she be so lightning fast? --(':twisted:')

Man, she brought out a big can of whup-*ss at the last AX. Not one, but four of those dang underpowered 944s got me, but Jackie beat me by over a second (and Chuck Sharp wasn't far behind her).

I am so feeling the love. It's so nice to wake up the morning of an AX knowing everybody's gunning for you! There is a new 944 driver on the horizon who is going to come in and spank most of us soon. Watch for Josh Yaeger in the future. He can't strip down his car to spec until he pays if off, but after that, look out.
