Thanks for the tip, Greg! I was really bummed when Discovery dropped Top Gear, so I am glad to have the gang back on my Tivo.

OK, I made it through them all and it was fun
It was fun to see the old IMSA footage with the FIA, RSR and 935s that I had just seen at Monterey.
I will quibble with the lack of front engine coverage for the 924, 944 & 928, plus 968. Although you could argue they were concentrating on race history, the 924 & 944 had as much success at Le Mans and SCCA as the 914 did :roll:

You guys...trying to pick on us 914 guys...SHAME!!

In 1970 Sonauto entered Le Mans with a brand new car the 914-6GT...6th overall, 1st in the GT class, and 1st in the GT Category overall! This was the same car I invited to our Historic Display at the Parade.

And what about our 24 Hours here in the states...Daytona. 1971, a differant 914-6GT, 7th overall and 1st in class.

And, and...What about IMSA?

All good points, my response was not to lessen or denigrate the results of the 914 but to point out that the water-pumpers did have a racing heritage at Le Mans that was comparable, but were still ignored in the videos about Porsche :roll:

And I suppose water-pumper needs to be defined in a context as many of the Le Mans winning Porsche pumped water to the cool the engines (at least the heads)

Thanks guys- great history and labor day viewing. My schedule was yardwork, cool off in the pool, come inside & watch 3-5 episodes and repeat. Made the heat bearable. I
