Time Trial @ Spring Mountain 9/29-30

Postby Robert on Sun Sep 09, 2007 10:05 am

Price goes up after September 14. Sign-ups are robust so the competition will be great with this likely being the last time we will be able to rent this track. Weather in Pahrump is already down into the 90's (vs the 100's when we were there in June) and could very well be in the extremely comfortable 80's by the end of the month. Save yourself some $ and register now by using the form located at http://www.pcasdr.org/img/2007/Calendar/TimeTrial/SpringMt2007Sept.pdf.

robust signups?

Postby Jackie C on Sun Sep 09, 2007 12:30 pm

Does this mean there will be camping available at the track this time?

Unlikely. There just aren't enough interested people and the track charges us a lot of additional money to do it. Saddle West, just down the street, has full hookups. If something changes with respect to camping arrangements I'll post a note here.

Camping @ Spring M.

Postby Rsylvestri on Mon Sep 10, 2007 9:01 pm

Thanks for the heads up Robert,

I thought last year there were some people who camped @ Spring Mountain. I was reading the doc. from last year and it looked like we could dry camp near the pit area, is that posible for those that are self contained?
This will be my first TT with the motorhome and want to make sure I've got a space to put her. I'd be interested if any changes come about for staying at Spring Mountain. I'll check on the rv parks too!

Thanks,
Rick

It's true, last year we did provide for dry camping however, 1) the track rental fee was a lot lower, and 2) the track insists on charging us for 24 hour security if we have anyone camping in the paddock. Put this all together and it's really expensive. If the 4 people who have indicated interest want to pony up for the additional costs, no problem. Figure $100 per RV for the weekend if all 4 do it, less if more people want to camp. Anyone who wants to camp for the weekend at $100 or less should PM me and I will notify you 1 week before the event whether or not it's a go. However, you should get a backup reservation at Saddle West so you are not counting on camping in the paddock in case not enough people buy in.

Camping at Spring Mountain is ON

Postby Robert on Tue Sep 11, 2007 2:45 pm

We now have 4 confirmed campers so we are good to go. The total cost to the Club is $400 for the weekend and we will split it amongst however many people end up camping. So right now it's $100 per camper for the weekend. Those of you who have indicated you will pay should drum up others to get your costs down.

Note that this is for dry camping. There are no hookups whatsoever at the Spring Mountain, so please come prepared.

Hurry!

Postby Robert on Fri Sep 14, 2007 7:20 am

Today is the last day to sign up with no late fees.

Weather trend is looking great there...expected to dip into the 80's next week, so it should be low-to-mid 80's by the time our weekend rolls around.

Letters with all event details, schedules, drivers meeting notes, etc. have been e-mailed to all registered participants as of yesterday evening. If you believe you have registered but did not receive the letter, please e-mail or PM me.

Please read the letter. There are changes such as Friday registration times and location, and updated tech info. Note also that Big T will be returning to offer breakfast and lunch both days.

Weather is looking good! Highs in the 80's and lows in high 50's. Small chance of rain.

Crowds will be lower since their Harvest Festival is Oct 4-6.

Can somebody post the attendees so we can see who we neeed to thrash, errrr, buddies that are going?

Pete,

I'll be there so you can thrash me all you want. I won't take too much offense at it. See you at the track.
