Not really sure why, but I found and subsequently bought another 931. Guess I wasn't using enough Tylenol with the first one! So now I have a matching (yes they are both Havanna Brown with tan interior) pair of 924 turbos. An 81 and an 82. Maybe between the two, one will run consistently. But hey, the guy only wanted $500.00 for it

Very good find indeed. Dead bone stock in surprising good condition. Paint shines, only interior problem was cracked dash. Only motor problem was broken distro clip and a heater hose elbow. Biggest issue is worn out tires. Everything is original or OEM replacement parts. Oh and it runs great!

Where did you find that? That is crazy--a running 931 for 500 bucks? I am jealous.

Craigslist.
But it is true, I think this is the urban legend car in the barn story. Though it does have 70K miles vice the 40K that was advertised. Car has been in a garage since 2001, with less than 300 miles since then. I am going to live it up while I can, it is only a matter of time before something breaks. It is after all a 924 turbo...

I have several 7x15 'Phone Dials, and a set of
4 7x16 'Phone Dials too. From a 928, so offset
is right for 5-bolt 931. Actually ran them on
my 931 for a while. Not pretty, but really
cheap. PM if interested, anybody.
Paul.

So it now is driving consistently and the breakdown is:
$68.42 in parts from Pioneer
$79.88 in parts from Pep Boys (Mobil 1 oil, transaxle lube, and filter).
$156.42 rear tires from Tire Rack
$405.00 in DMV fees!
$473.27 to USAA for a 17 year old male driver every 6 months
A bunch of misc parts from the hangar queen.
An inordinate amount of hours swearing at the two bolts holding the coolant flange on the back of the motor.
And we have a 17 year old driver ready for the Dec AX. We went out yesteday for his maiden stick shift drive, and ummm, smooth. I just sat there in utter disgust. Up hills, down, traffic. It didn't matter. We lurched maybe twice in 45 minutes of driving and I said "easy" or "smooth" twice. I guess all those hours of X-box finally repaid some dividends. Though I will never tell him that!
