We are implementing something new this year.

The Z8 Rules committee has met, deliberated and composed the draft official proposal to be sent to the presidents for ratification.

However, as is frequently the case, several of the proposals made by you, the general membership, where modified. The committee thinks it only fair that these modifications be subject to further review.

Kudos to the Rules Committee for doing an excellent job to make this such an open process, by offering us the chance to see what proposals are being forwarded and why before the President's vote on them. I think they did a great job this year of listening to the member input.

Thanks for your hard work! I think you should all get double the salary next year, plus stock options!

Very good document, and great commentary on each proposal. I emailed the following feedback:

I read over the Zone 8 rules change proposals, and had a comment on #42, which speaks to the need to split the current P class. I agree with the concept, as I do think it odd that 996 and 997 GT2 and GT3 cars are competing with the other cars in that class. However, I think breaking it into P for the 911 Turbo 3.6 '94+ and 997S, and Q for all 996/997 GT2/GT3 would be sufficient. Fragmenting into 3 classes feels like overkill.

I have to disagree about the Boxter spec class not taking off. To our north at POC (yes I said it) it is taking off and there is also a movement toward 911 spec. The price of the starter car is all relative, it is the close racing and comradery that has been experienced in 944 spec that is driving it.
