Would anyone, esp. from the TT series, be interested in coordinating the creation of a highlights VIDEO for the installation banquet. I think that would be a lot cooler than the still pix.

Don't know when the banquet is. Sometime in Jan.
Whoever did the project would have to collect tapes from drivers.
Chris, sorry if my statement seemed unappreciative. The still pix presentation is cool, too.

How much time for the finished product you looking for? I might be willing to take that challenge. Some crankin' music

maybe a little engine noise...only thing I don't have would be some pit vids. Can we add in some CFOS too?

I think an hour or so looped would be more than enough. All you'd have to do is solicit tape from everyone. I could put out that email. People would need to label their tapes so they could be returned. Could you edit various media, e.g., 8mm, digital, etc.?

I looked at my calendar (very unofficial) and came up with the following dates:
Jan. 8 - PCA-SDR installation dinner
Jan. 15 - Zone 8 awards banquet
Jan. 28-29 - National Board Mtg and social events (in San Diego)
A good video could have multiple audiences. I can contribute some video of Spring Mountain that has good engine sounds if you like that sort of thing (there was a mike attached to the rear bumper).

I've got a stellar in-car shot of a 944 in Street Stock chasing down a 993 in MSS at the last QDE

(Oh.... maybe not a good idea

).
Additionally, my brother-in-law's son has a beautiful video of A-X series shot with a really good camera. He's put special effects to it as well. A beautiful piece of work.
I'd opt for having the videos during the Awards Ceremony Cocktail Hour portion of the evening, and the Slide Show during the rest of the evening. (Chris and company have worked too hard over the years to step on their toes.)
My 2-cents.

If you can get the video's to me on CD's I have DVD authoring software and can add some nice text and effects.
Hey Dan, what would it cost for a copy of your brother-in-laws video?
Thanks,
Dan A

I can supply some video of Spring Mountain and Willow. What format would you prefer for the video? I can even go through some of it and put it on CD if it helps.

I think this is a great idea, but I agree it should be in addition to the slideshow presentation. If the video CD does happen, how about copies that people can purchase with the proceeds going to the charity fund?

Weren't there some "kids" making a video of the driving events for a class project?
