This is not an official PCASDR event. It's an informal gathering of 944 enthusiasts. We're going to get together and swap war stories and show the cars off. There's also a thread on Rennlist about this.
We're meeting at 2:30pm this Saturday at the indoor karting track. Hopefully, it won't rain this weekend.

Sounds fun, but the afternoon of the Installation Dinner might be an issue for others as it is for me
Maybe next time. I think we really need an unofficial PCA race day at Miramar or K1

Most of the 944 owners coming aren't PCA members right now, but still, I didn't know about the schedule conflict. Let's get them into the mix.
I'd love to have a Spped Circuit date.

I'm down for a Speed Circuit day!
I would also love to hang with the 944 guys, as I keep wanting to look into getting a track car, but this Saturday is one of only 5 remaining football days, so I'll be glued to a couch.

Tim and all - I think we really need an unofficial PCA race day at Miramar or K1 too. That would be tons of fun! When the QCOM stadium schedule is made, let's try to find a good date?

So Erik... Just so the rest of us can feel like even slower old men than we are what kind of times can you run at Miramar?
Best lap?
Average lap?
I am such a glutton for punishment...

We need lead weights to help compensate in those cars...
And if you say whats that around your middle....

If they haven't changed the track layout, you're doing well if you can crack into the 32 second range. I'm about 170 lbs.

Steve, Since I have been racing my own go-kart over the last two years( yes it is the one currently up for sale) I have not been to miramar in a while. The best i remember doing is a low 33.xx so if the track configuration is still the same I think thats a decent time after seeing what Tim.C had to say about 32 sec lap time.

Why can't owners of 931, 944S, 968 cars go also? There is some profiling going on here!

You guys will love my article in next months (Feb.) issue of the Witness, under "Back in the Day" talking about "Out-Law" go-kart racing.

I believe the configuration is still the same. Low to mid 33's are usually pretty good times. 32.xx would be really good.

I think I've gotten to the low 34's when I weighed 210 lbs. I'm at 200 or less now but I doubt that will make much difference. I was finally starting to get the slow in-fast out concept and while it felt wimpy, it works!
