PCA SDR

We are considering adding an additional big track fun event as part of the 2008 SDR TT series. As you know, we are one event short this year due to Willow not giving us a big track date. POC has been kind enough to invite us to join them for an extra weekend they are adding to their calendar at California Speedway August 9-10 using the full roval (same configuration as the Speedfest). Here would be the highlights:

- One PCA-exclusive run group
- 45 driver max (same as we run at Speedfest), first come, first served
- Competition Permit holding drivers only, no Students, no instruction
- Four 25 minute sessions on Saturday, three on Sunday plus optional timed runs
- Lost track time comes exclusively out of the group having the issue
- Passing rules the same as for Speedfest
- No points, just for fun
- Timed runs done our standard way (i.e., not the Speedfest way) and integrated with POC drivers, providing for some fun, friendly competition
- At-track cocktail party Saturday night included; BBQ as well (possibly pot luck -- to be determined)
- Free overnight camping Friday and Saturday nights
- Garages available for rent (cost $100 for the weekend)
- Price: our usual $295, no discounts

So you get a great extra weekend less than 2 hours from SD, with the best facilities of any track and fun interaction with the folks from POC.

This event has the potential to be a real blast. May I add to Robert's description that I'm going to work on having a great band entertain us Saturday evening at the track during our cocktail hour(s) and BBQ.
