Thanks for having such a GREAT Performance Driving School!

My son Jon and I wanted to thank Denise Dente, Keith Verlaque and everyone else for putting on such a terrific Performance Driving School. All the instructors were great, especially Dan Chambers (WOW is he good). We had the best time of our life and learned more in this 2 1/2 day school than I ever expected. I just hope I can remember everything.

Thanks again. I'll have some photos and streaming video clips of the school posted as soon as I can get them up on the web.

Gotta agree, the PDS was pretty awesome 2nd time around! Whole different perspective coming in as an instructor. You definately appreciate the volunteer manpower required to pull off an event like this . It's great to see so much POSITIVE energy displayed by students and instructors, too. We have a special group of people in the SDR, and I'm just beginning to learn some of what it takes to become a good driver and instructor! Thanks Tom for taking all the pics and video.

Awwww, shucks. T'weren't nothin'.

Thanks to Ted and Jon for being great students. You guys were really good at following instruction, and your improved driving skills are the result. Congratulations to both of you on a job well done! You're going to give MSS leaders a real run for the gold now.

And I definitely agree with Jackie. Great School, great help from all the volunteers, and a great job at organizing and staying on time to Keith and Denise! 8) Fantastic event. :D

Thanks again to all who helped!

Dan,

I think they might actually have a harder time catching the MSS leaders after 2 days in the car with you... :P

Fun smack-talk.

Well, rss996; if this is who I think it is, my smack-talkin' friend who sells real estate and advertises in the Witness, here's something to think about:

After 7 events you (if it's who I think it is) have earned about 57 points for the season  . On the other hand, young Jon Witte has driven only 4 events and earned 33 points for the season.

On average, You've earned 8.1 points per autocross this season  , while Jon had earned 8.25 points per autocross :D ; and this is before learning a few handy pointers from the school (not necessarily me directly).

Seems to me, you should keep your windshield clean and throw away your mirrors. He'll be in front of you next season, and the only need you'll have for mirrors is to check your fashion eyewear.

Oh bull pucky! We know you Dan. Everything you say is intended as an insult, personal attack, and/or disrespectful! You can't fool us.

Mr. Chambers, If you look a little closer you will find that the 4 events he attended ,he was an average of 1.26 seconds slower than me...

With all due respect, since you are quite a bit older than me, I don't feel that your expertise will help him generate that kind of time next year.

I feel that I showed steady improvement over the year (my first) and thanks to Denise Dente and Al Slocum taking time off for good behavior, I was able to climb the ladder in MSS.

I will send a sympathy card to the Witte family for what you have done to their hopes of ever getting over the hump in MSS...

Robert, Robert, Robert. What's age got to do with it? Tom Comeau is in his 70's, and can drive circles around you, me, and anyone brave enough to challange him. :) So being "quite a bit older" than you (and by the way, if you'd like to take it outside and roll-up your sleeves, scrawny young pup, I'm ready! ) I see has nothing to do with skill, speed, talent, strength, or witt. 8) (Ah, but youth is wasted on the young! )

As to your stats on young mister Witte, his points were earned in half the time as yours. So, yes, you've done well this year. I think he's done better. As to sending cards to anyone, I reckon I'll be sending you a "Get Well Soon" card in regards to your driving. Don't put away that Windex just yet, hot shot  .

Isn't Dan A. in his 90's?

Sorry Dan, I couldn't resist, and I did try... for all of about 30 seconds.

You and Curt should join a club...In fact I think I'll join a club and beat you both with it.....

I was looking for you on the ax results and couldn't find you, then I realized I was looking for you on the top 10, not on the Sunday driver list... Youngsters...

Robert:

As for the drink, don't worry about it.... I'll be one of the celebrity bartenders tonight  .... and no..... that's not a fly in your Shirley Temple  !

As to 4th this year ... that would be during a year where I wasn't trying to compete, only drive. In fact, I placed 6th in GSS in a 912 at the last a-x. If you're curious about my driving, check the results of 2003 ... where I was trying  .

Anyway, see you tonight. It should be lots of fun. You're doing pretty good at the smack-talk. Get Dan A. or Curt A. to coach you a bit. They're the reigning champs of rhetoric and the verbal smack-down 8) .

Cheers!
