I ran a few laps on Gran Turismo 4 with the Spoon S2000 and racing hard tires. I hear this is the setup everyone has been using to practice for the time trail. So lets post those times up:

Leigh,

I've been running it in the 1970 Datsun Z. adjust the suspension and change to medium race tires. It only has 150 hp so it's more like our Spec cars will be. (slow!) I'm running 1:41.8's with that. I'll try the S2000 just for kicks.

So sorry

Hey Leigh,
I hate to break it to you, but Tim Souza, who I thought was running this set up, just tried it and ran a 1:32. Don't stop practicing until your right butt cheek gets a cramp. Strength training!!

Actually I ran a 1:32 with the "soft" tires. I just switched it to the same set up as Leigh with the hard tires and ran a 1:34.625. Unfortunately when Josh gets home tonight from work, that number will no longer be any good :(

O.K. this was a joke that didn't work. That time that "I" posted is actually Grant's, who is the only one in this family who could figure out how to post a picture and thought it might give Jackie a worry. My real time was hovering around two minutes as I recall  and you thought I was slow driving a real car... So, I think I'll try Marks setup with the Datsun and see if that is more to my liking.

How many cars were totalled in achieving those virtual times

In the TT, you only get ONE car. My timed seemed significantly slower in real life for some reason  . Funny how some of the flat out virtual corners were far from it when I was sitting in the car. Must just have been a poor simulation

haha funny you should mention that Jad...
me and my dad (Tim) have a rule that if you hit a wall or do anything that would result in a real life "crash" then your done and your last lap is what counts

For some comparison to reality, here is a link to the POC track records for Laguna Seca: http://www.porscheclub.com/events/track ... naSeca.htm

It appears that a very fast time in a 944 Spec (GSR) is 1:46.6, so these virtual times appear to be just that, virtual.

Cheers,

Okay, so you guys are much better drivers than I am. I got a high 1:32 with the hard (no mods) and a mid 1:27 with the Supersoft tires. Freakin' momentum cars...

(they're all momentum cars)
