8/2/08 AX Thanks and Results!

Postby Steve Grosekemper on Mon Aug 04, 2008 8:31 am

I think a big thanks goes out to the AX team for making such a fun event on such a small lot. For those who didn't attend; the chargers took about 1/2 out lot for a fan appreciation day bla, bla, something.

So the course was very small but had great rhythm. The lack of significant straight aways sections was a real HP equalizer. Working within these kinds of restraints especially at the last minute is not easy.
Good job AX team!

And thanks for making it shorter as my rear tires vaporized on my last timed run. Never would have made it to timing on our normal big west side lot.

I agree with Steve. Kudos to the AX team and all of the volunteers who helped make the last minute changes work so well. It was a very fun, challenging track that was HP neutral. Thanks!

An old (and very famous)former Grand National Champion motorcycle racer I know has a favorite saying:
"Speed is relative.....50mph in your basement is haulin' a$$"

Saturday's track was a practical lesson in the truth of that old saying.

I heard a few grumbles Saturday morning directed at the Shadowdy Overlords who run the staduim, but by the end of the day, everyone was enjoying the competition just like they do when we have a normal sized layout.

Just wanted to say Thanks to SDR AX,
I really had a lot of fun. Short track or not it was definitely a technical course. The varying elevations made it so different for me. I can’t wait to try one of your full track courses.
I’d also like to thank Jackie for inviting me down and Team Scheussler for welcoming me. Lisa you are quite the hostess.
Thanks to all again,
Christine
