Why do we do this?

Why do we as a club always post what amounts to every announcement in the general discussion area as well? It is redundant. Since the forum is going through a change, maybe now is a good time for the administrators to consider getting rid of the announcement section and merging it's topics into general discussions.

Or simply moving announcements and deleting redundant posts?

I've tried to police this in the past without much luck. At the end of the day, this is your community. We, the admins will make sure people obey the Terms and Conditions they agreed to when signing up for the forum. However, it is up to the members of the community to make sure people are following proper netiquette. And remember, if is far more effective to convince someone to agree to your point of view when using kind words and politeness than it is to be rude and (or) belittle someone.

Special note: violations of the Terms and Conditions will get you reprimanded (or banned) no matter what you intent.
