Cool AX

Great AX! Couldn't have run smoother, 14 laps for everyone and drinking beer by 4. Nice driving by Gary Burch, #1 BRI (did you hear that OCR?)! and Erik K, who has successfully debunked every excuse I've ever had for being slower in timed runs...What a blast. Best $40 spent EVER. Thanks volunteers and fellow drivers.

Great track, I liked it. And for once, it didn't fall apart in every corner. :)
I don't know about the rest of you, but for me grip was hard to find, especially after the sun had been out for a few hours.
I guess I need new tire$, the ones I ran have been heat cycled about 4000 times......

Great AX!!! Thanks to everyone for working corners and nobody whined about it. We had just enough people to run this event and I appreciate everyones help.

The track was challenging and I have to agree with Lucky Dave, the grip was hard to find. Nice job on the BRI Gary!!

Thanks for the quick turn-around on the results.

It was a really fun day. Hats off to the organizers and volunteers who made it a great day. It was really nice to be back at it after a long time off. With a spread of 0.58-seconds in IS between 1st (Paul Young - nice laps, Dude!), 2nd (Steve G. ...on old tires) and 3rd, it was a truly fun, competitive day.

A huge Atta-Boy to  Mr. Burch. Gotta love those new R-888's!

Looking forward to the next one. In the mean time, don't forget to get some practice-laps in at the PDS. Remember, if you Volunteer-Instruct Sunday, you get laps at the end of the day.

Cheers!

So I guess reversing the direction wasn’t such a bad idea after all. 8) I had fun watching a lot of people diving and sliding through the course. It definitely required intensity. Thanks Jackie, Bill and everyone. Can we repeat the track next time?

The last part was a joke.

Please no. The IS class results do NOT show how ugly my driving was, and how I struggled to stay within the cones. I may love Hoosiers, but the tires did not love my driving... :burnout:

But I understand your feeling, Jennifer. Like Gary, you obviously had the smoothness that track needed

Jackie Lu and I thank you for the comments. We got a late start due to the need to replace the trailer battery... but with folks pitching in to help set up the event the lateness was manegable. I sure did like the 2 sets of 5 laps we got and the short wait in the grid line.

Jennifer - more on this later but the AX team is thinking of the recent suggestion of repeating the November track in December for the Other Car AX. That way, the newer folks won't need to learn a new track layout and can concentrate on improving where they left off in November ... and folks who drive another car in December can get a feel for the different handling/ability of the other car on the same track layout. More later.

Again I thank Michael Monaco for lending me his car to drive during the timed runs. Was fun to drive a same but "different" car. You are a gentleman and a sportsman. I have an idea where some of our time difference may be. We'll talk later. Good luck with your Alcatraz swim this weekend.

Ted Witte - Nice pics! Your experiment with the camera to give the background motion blur worked. Good job. We all look fast.

I was joking about repeating the track immediately at the next AX because I really don't think it is fair back to back and I made a big deal about it last time. Sadly, I lost my 3rd place points position anyway. I have another suggestion. Can we start giving out 4th place trophies - I heard we used to...? :roflmao: (Okay, seriously, the last sentence is a joke)

Good idea. It will be fair and fun to repeat a track at the no points AX.
