SMMP TT

Okay, I'm curious about the Time Trial...

Any good stories (no David, not from the Chicken Ranch)?

Did anybody take a picture of the green results sheet?

Is anybody even back yet?

Wishing I could have been there... :(

Here are the unofficial results:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3194/293 ... 42f1_b.jpg

The track is faster due to some new paving but wind and sand on the track in timed runs made it slower

4est,

At least you weren't there to get your clock cleaned by Jad and Glenn. :surr:

That is definitely true!! My car slid way more on the timed runs on T1 and T2 and the head wind going into ego check was so strong that my speed at the end of that straight was 5mph slower than in practice runs. After turning and going south, however, I put up a main sail and spinnaker to get that time back. :roflmao:

Thanks to everyone for making this TT so safe and clean, even running with the Spring Mtn X cars. Jack and Robert, nice job as usual. Greg, great photos. (It was fun chasing you around.) Lots of improvements to the track and many more to come. Can't wait til next year. Love this track!

Thanks for the prompt posting, Bill!

With 17 new class records, I would have to say that the improved paving helped more than the wind hurt. :?

I agree that the new paving helped, but I am willing to bet those faster cars were improved by tires, cool weather, upgrades and driver seat time more than the track.
I know that was the case for the cars in our little group.
Duncan Mobile 996
Greg Phillips 928
Cathy Youngs 87 Carrera (which I Co-Drove)
Jeff Schmidt 993

And I believe Team Sharp was actually running fresh matched tires with no cord showing...
Who would have thought!

How about a quick poll, how much faster were you and what mods have you made since last trip to SM?

I'll start with Cathy's car
18.55 seconds faster than her last visit.
New Torsion bars and RA-1's from complete stock.
That was her first TT this was her third.
BTW- very nice drive from Cathy, in this instance the biggest improvement was driver.
