2ยข okay.

Had a fantastic time, really should be more folks attending (yes DQ, even you).

Weather 30C (86F), really dry. Glad I had the cool suit!

Ate a lot of GREAT food.

Vegas traffic is a big intercoursing mess (90 minutes from the track to the Horleans casino).

Seeing the F-15s going ballistic with full afterburners (orange glow 10,000 feet up) was very cool.

Mirage transport looked good. When it finally showed up.

Not too many attendees, so it seldom felt crowded. After the qualified grid, it was pretty much wide open. No major incidents,
only a few cleanups and tows causing minor delays. Overall, nice organization.

I really like the track - It's technical, and rather challenging, but I would not call it busy (Streets is BUSY). Gators to bounce off of,
slight banking in a few spots, three fourth-gear sections, couple of high-speed sweepers. A strongly increasing radius and a
Major decreasing radius corner. No elevation changes, but several spots where there are small rises and falls in braking areas.
Makes it very difficult without ABS! Average speeds comparable to Streets or Spring Mountain. There's a lot to study here!

Local folks did well overall. Charlie Wolk solid. Bill Hartsock ran very well (won the Orange Race OA on Saturday - right?). Behr very fast,
and well behaved. Tim Souza ran strong. DG must have got the POC V2 track record (2:02.sumpin). Ron Palmer was really cooking.
Tawfik was very quick and got the POC LP track record (2:04?). Others, I may have forgot - chime in. A pleasure to see such good driving!

I did over 300 miles on Snickers, and it ran perfectly. Skinny Toyo RA1s all weekend. After nice practice time Saturday, I totally
SUCKED in timed laps (1.5 sec slower). Second in class. Plus got Snickers buried in the gravel DEEP, causing one of the delays.
Sunday I redeemed myself, winning the class, and I think a POC IP track record (2:07.90).

Again, this is a wonderful track.

Oh, John Payne - he was having alignment issues, not utilizing all the tire. He was close, but not sure if he bettered his 1:52.xx from
last time. Still did very well Sunday, holding off the cup cars...

Major problems, but still worked out OK in TT and race.
Results posted on MYlaps now.

BTW, Ron Palmer really kicked it up a notch with his 1:56. Given a stock (chipped) 3.6, that's a fabulous time for someone of his experience. I predict he will be another SDR driver winning races in POC. (Of course, we'll have to put him in another Class first!!! )

Had a really good time.
Loved the track......easiest way to describe this track is: It s a bigger Go Kart track.
I ran 2:03s consistently on Saturday but couldn t do it again during timed runs. after I changed my tires.
Track is faster with used rear tires as a lot of sliding is needed in some of the corners.

Watching the F14s and F16s was awesome but very distracting.
I almost went off track o Friday as I saw 2 B1 bombers take off while I was driving and broke too late for a corner :)

It is a fun track and like Tawfik said and John told me on Thursday, you have to be able to slide/pitch the car to get good times. I managed on Sunday to beat my best practice time by 0.017 seconds. I ended with a 2:01:991. At least I broke into the 2:01's in timed runs, even if only by a few thousandths. I'd recommend this track, very technical and a lot of fun.
