Cayman options?????

Postby Cbad-box on Mon Nov 10, 2008 8:15 am

I might be looking into used purchasing a used Cayman S. Does anyone have experience with the PASM suspension option? Is it worth having? Used vehicles with PASM typically are loaded with additional options so the best I could do is 45-47K. A basic Cayman S can be had in the 40-42K range. The car would be dual purpose, street with some auto-X use and eventually some track day use. Not looking to get into alot of mods. Presently in a boxster.

Any other input is also appreciated.

Thanks

Surf on over to www.caymanclub.net and search for PASM. There is more information there on the plus/minus argument for PASM that could hope to study.

If you are going to AX the car this may have an impact on which car you choose to drive.

Driving Events Proposal #10 – Cars with PASM
Proposed Addition: III. Assessment of Penalty Points Non-stock PASM (Porsche Active Stability Management) package in its entirety with original factory parts (at the factory or after the fact) 2 points Rationale: Once again, technology keeps marching on.

Thanks for the feedback. The Cayman club does have alot of input on this subject with many different view pionts. I am a little torn because I do enjoy the top down motoring of the boxster; can't really afford to own both. :?
