2009 TT series schedule

Here are the dates we have approved for 2009:

January 30-February 1 Streets/Big Willow (3 days, 2 tracks, double points)
April 3-5 California Festival of Speed (3 days, Auto Club Speedway)
May 2-3 Spring Mountain
October 17-18 Spring Mountain
November 21-22 Buttonwillow

The first event of the year will include 2 days at Streets (Friday and Saturday) with our usual 6 practice sessions on Friday, 4 practice sessions on Saturday, and timed runs. Sunday we will move to the Big Track at Willow and run 5 practice sessions follow by a 6th session that will count for timed runs using the same qualifying-style format we use at the Festival of Speed (your best lap time in the 6th session, with a staggered start and normal passing rules).

We will be switching to online registration in 2009, using the same system that Autocross and QDE events use (for all events other than the Festival, which uses a different online system). There will be a strong financial incentive to register online. Registration is expected to open around January 1, so there will be a relatively short window to register for the lowest possible price for the first event of the year. Mark your calendars now for the year and make a note to check back right after the new year starts to register and save $$$.

We will be running under new, yet-to-be-published 2009 Zone 8 Rules which we expect to be available by the time registration commences. You’ll want to check these out as soon as they are available to ensure your car is qualified for the first event of the year.

Happy holidays and see you at the track in 2009.

Registration for the first TT of 2009, three days at Willow (2 @ Streets, 1 @ Big Willow), January 30-February 1 is now open. You'll save $50 by registering online for all three days at:

http://pcasdr.motorsportreg.com

For those of you with deep pockets and a desire for nostalgia, old style paper registration is available as well on the SDR website's TT calendar page or in the January Witness. But do yourself a favor and sign up online as we'll be using this system going forward and after the first time it's significantly faster and easier (same system used by AX and many other clubs so if you've already created an account you won't have to do that again). When signing up for the event remember to renew your Zone 8 Competition Permit for 2009, if eligible. Note that the event is coming right up and the price is subject to increase after January 16, so take care of this now while you are thinking about it.

Any questions, problems, suggestions, etc., contact me at the e-mail address shown on the motorsportreg.com website.

There does not appear to be any problem with the online registration system as the list of drivers completing the sign-up process continues to build. Anyone with a specific problem should contact me directly with details of their issue.

You have to be registered and then you must log in to do anything like check who is attending.
10 drivers?
Come on... Just over 2 weeks until Robert hits you with the $50 BTAF late fee (Bar Tab Assitance Fund)

I was the 5th to register and I don't even know what I am going to drive...
These are desperate times we are living in...

+1. I've used the the online reg for the Q, too. Once you're in the system, it's fast and easy. I'm looking forward to another great SOW TT. This will be my first SOW on semi-sticky (RA-1) tires, so I'm hoping to get a little better times. Hopefully, Monica will be driving, too.

Sorry I won't be doing the Big Track this round (waiting for the rollbar installation before I go there :surr: ).

Just in case there was anyone out there who was actually waiting for the Chargers to blow it before registering for the Willow TT's, that moment has shockingly arrived. Two teams you don't care about will be playing in the Super Bowl, which means you are WAY better off spending your last weekend in January/first weekend in February in beautiful Rosamond, CA at our first ever, two-tracks/three-days/double-points TT's.

However, this coming Thursday, 1/15 is the last day to pay for the event before late fees are imposed. Late fees are more than the cost of signing up, paying and having to cancel, so you are better off just registering right now, conveniently paying online, and planning to enjoy yourself. Go to http://pcasdr.motorsportreg.com now and sign up. It's simple and quick, and in less than three weeks you'll be on track with your PCA pals to kick off another great SDR TT season.
