Thanks for asking Curt, I could write a book about the details, but I don't want to bore you.

:D Yes it's true there is a new non P-car, but I'll still continue to Autocross with the 911. The car I purchased is a 2002 Formula Renault 2.0 fully updated to the latest Evo 2007 edition, so only the tub is 2002. It weighs 1080 pounds and is entirely made of carbon fiber (tub, bodywork and floor). The gearbox is a 6 speed sequential no lift shift dog clutch, and it comes with short, medium long gears....

These spec cars are very popular in Europe and drivers like Kimi Räikkönen went directly from Formula Renault 2000 to Formula One.

Here are some pictures:

Looks awesome Martin, look forward to seeing it in person.
Go ahead share some specs, is it a ground effects type car?
I bet it corners like it is on rails.
When's your first track day, where at?

Thank you

Yes the Evo 2007 has very similar aerodynamic and ground effects as the F1 Renault from 2007.

This year should be for the most part a learning year, since these cars are not easy to setup and drive. But, they are pretty fast, the Formula Renaults 2.0 run in the 1:16's at Big Willow. :burnout:

I will be racing in the Formula 2.0 Challenge with HSR-West in a mixed field of Formula Atlantic, Formula 3, Formula Renaults, Formula Continental, etc. The first race will probably be at Willow Springs in March, but if I can get everything ready sooner then I will go to to PIR in February.

Funny Sean :-D It's for pure fun and for the need for speed, I am too old for F1 :roflmao: .

Thanks Dan. Yes, that's the one. When the US series was canceled in 2008, most cars were sold to South America and China. This one is the only Evo 2007 of two left in the USA, the other one went to China.

Strap yourself to the sattle with racers tape, because I don't want you too loose yours shorts from the draft when I pass you :roflmao:

Wow! How sweet is that ride?!?

It's for pure fun and for the need for speed, I am too old for F1 :roflmao: .

In volleyball there's a "Masters" league (P.C. for "old guys"). Maybe you can start an "F1 Masters league" for U.S. drivers?

Merry Christmas, Martin. Have fun with your new "toy". Can't wait to see it.
