Hey AXers! For the last few events, the pre-reg team has included a small run group chart in the driver's envelope for you to use to keep track of the day's schedule. Have you found it useful or not? Please take a second to give us feedback, so we will know whether it's worthwhile providing this. Thanks for your help!

Janet, I think you will find that many, if not most, find it useful. It is especially nice for the newer drivers.

But, if you find including it to be bit burdensome, a secondary option would be to get 3 or 4 copies of the full size sheet that is posted in the trailer and have them posted along and around the pit area.

Scan a copy and post it on the forum for people to download and make their own copies.

Martin,

The run group schedule changes from event to event. We cycle through 4 or 5 schedules. There may be too much confusion for all involved. First getting the right version up on the forum. Second people tend to print something once and use it over and over, in this case they could possibly have the wrong schedule. As much of a pain as it may be to pre-reg, at least the correct schedule is included in the drivers envelope. Lets see how the poll goes and let pre-reg decide what to do.

It is extremely useful and keeps everything flowing. Thanks for including it.

Just to clarify from the pre-reg team:

It's not that it's a pain to do, or anything like that. It's just an extra step and costs some money, and I've heard mixed reviews about whether people use it or not. I just want to be sure most people find it worthwhile. Thank you. Janet Yaws

I love the idea of not running to the trailer to see when my student is running. What about posting the night before with the track map?

Debbie & Janet

I am ashamed to admit that I have never even seen it in my envelope!
(Also didn't look)
I love the idea, because I will not remember to print one out even if you sent it to my email, let alone made me look at the forum for it.

I for one do a lot of running around at these events like so many others and checking run groups is not the top of my list.

I will be sure to dig it out of my envelope and tell you how great it was to have.

How about making an announcement at the drivers meeting that you are looking for feedback on these little jewels and see if there are others as oblivious to your hard work as am I.

How long have you been doing this??? :?:
I need new glasses. 8)

I like it and believe it helps keep the event running more smoothly. It should help the chairs out by keeping people aware of what's coming up and when. I know that I like to read mine while corner working (which the little slip of paper tells me i need to do) so that I can count the minutes down to my next session.

How about attaching it to the track map. When you print up the track map, you also print up the current schedule.

Martin, I wish everyone took advantage of the internet like you do. But every AX, many, many people come up to the trailer asking if we brought extra copies of the track map. People just don't remember to do this stuff before the event.

Don't forget that the run groups are color coded and some people don't have color printers. i know you probably have 10 but most people don't.

This was printed in B&W and scanned. Not great, but still legible. Hey, I am trying to save money for the club :surr:
Besides, print is going extinct. I hardly print anything anymore. We will look back and laugh at the idea of printing stuff, wasting fuel, trees, and then having to trash it all. Most newspapers and magazines will be gone in our lifetime. IMHO anyway.

I guess I would have to vote for saving the trees as well. It really isn't that hard to look at the trailer during the drivers meeting and watch the flags during the day. Next we will have a valet service to bring your car to the grid so you don't have to :roflmao:
