Porsche corral/hospitality at Long Beach Grand Prix?

Anyone know if there will be a Porsche corral and/or PCA hospitality area at the Long Beach Grand Prix? I've never been to the LBGP, so any advice on special parking would be great. I'm hesitant to take my Porsche up there unless I know we have a group area.

The setup we had at the Coronado Speed Fest was so great, and I'm hoping there is something similar at the Grand Prix....but I cannot find any info on Zone 8 Website or anywhere else.

The last couple of years Porsche sponsored a PorschePlatz at some (all?)their ALMS venues which included the LBGP. Unfortunately it is not clear how much Porsche will be sponsoring the ALMS since the dropped out :surr: of the LMP2 races with their Spyders and will only be competing in GT-2.

Gran Prix Region has worked with the LBGP in the past and would be the place to check with either Skip Carter or Michale Dolphin the Zone 8 rep.

With the downturn going on this year, Porsche is not doing their PorschePlatz.

I always park my Cayenne in the court house parking structure and walk a few blocks. Easy freeway access afterwards, covered, and it is afterall a court house! Until last year, it was about the cheapest parking also, but prices tripled ($15) last year and are pretty much in line with every other place now. There were several other P-cars in the structure on both days and in three years of parking there, never a problem.

Up to this minute update!! I just got this within the last 48 hours but have only been back in town for 12....

While Porsche will not be doing the Porscehplatz this year, I have talked with the promoter about the costs of a "Porsche corral" that might work if I get committments. As well, the LBGP can offer discounted tickets for advanced purchases by Porsche folks.

The Porsche corral alone will be about $50 for all three days of parking. Tickets I should get a figure within a day or two.

Lastly, there is potential for about $150 per person for a hospitality tent, tickets, three days of corral parking and lunch if I can guesstimate 125-150 attendees.

So plans are in the works. Will update San Diego, the Zone and the rest of PCA as soon as I know more...

I have been going to the LBGP for about 15 years and the last 3 we have been staying on the Queen Marry. They have a huge parking lot and the passport bus is free and shows up every 20min or so. It's the best thing ever. It drops you right at the race, almost no wait.

Count me in for LBGP festivities - corral, hospitality tent - whatever gets arranged. A truly excellent event!

POC use to promote the Porsche corral as well - given the economic downturn maybe safety in numbers is the way to go. I generally just go up for Friday so if there's a one day package I'm interested.
