To celebrate PCA SDR starting to do D.E.s on the infield at Fontana, we are announcing the Mini-Big Track series. Our tracks will have the spirit of various big tracks around the country. Of course, the layouts will be limited by the Q obstructions, but the essence will be there.
Do the Q to get ready for Fontana.
Check out Talladega "Gumby"
There is no fire extinguisher needed in parking lot DEs

I think this is just for Cal Festival of Speed. No other events for Zone 8 show up and nothing for SDR either.

Maybe I am mistaken, but weren't DE's $60? Why the 25% increase?

The 25% increase is also due to Qualcomm raising the rates by 25%. I guess now that the lot is fixed they have a more valuable site (only kidding).
They raised it last year, but was not raised by the club because we had the instructor school.

Ooops, I thought we were on the same registration system as Time Trials. The registration is not ready yet, but I will post it when it is.
Thanks for trying to register already.

While lunches are great, and maybe I am not that strong in math , but as an example if the stadium is $2000 and they raise it 25% thats $2500, or a $500 increase. If you have 100 people show at an additional $15 each (25%) thats $1500.00... If the typical attendance is 60 people then that price would be in line I would guess.

Attendance is usually 50-60. I usually wind up spending $8.00 at the roach coach and pay for it again with Tums.
So even by your math, that's a good deal.

As Martin notes, attendance is 50-60 usually. The track rent went up 33.3%, from $1,500 to $2,000 per day. Remember, we have been using paid corner workers the last few years, and they drive down from WSIR to help us out. Sadly, they want us to pay them. And there's insurance, yada, yada, yada. Bottom line, you'll get more track time here for less money than renting a kart at K1 Sports. (Please don't bring up the issue of tires. Track repairs have been made and should help there.) It's still the best track deal in Southern California. Sign up early and often. :beerchug:

Great point. Let's also remember: we haven't raised DE fees since I was the AX/DE Chair with Carl and Gary. That was 2003-2004. Corner Woker costs have gone up. Stadium costs have gone up. Repairs and maintenance costs for equipment and the Trailer have gone up. Truck Rental fees have gone up. Port-a-pot fees have gone up. Beer, wine, sodas, water, and ice fees have gone up. Gas has gone up. Tires have gone up. Brake pads have gone up. Brake fluid costs has gone up. My tolerance for whiners has plummeted. :roflmao: Everything changes over time.

I guess if you "back-amortize" the amount, that's about 4 1/2% inflation over 6 years for our event. Hmmm .... Historically, cost of living increases ran anywhere from 2% to 4%. Hmmm........Well .... I don't know. What price: fun?

I guess if you can't stand the water, don't go swimming? :surr:

I don't know ......

All I know is: Monica and I will be there. 8) Big thanks to all the organizers and volunteers who make these great driving events so great.

Dan, Thank you for the great points and support. I did not even realize the club held the line on costs for so long. I especially like your "whiners" point and am thinking we should have a "Binky" award Imageat the Drivers Dinner for the biggest baby of the year. Do you think the board will approve that? :roflmao:

Yeah, I guess I would have the same opinion if I didn't pay for tires either.... 8)

Whiners?? Anyone who doesn't ask a question when the cost goes up 25%, with no explanation before hand, well I definately want you as a customer... :beerchug:

Also, in no way does my questioning costs lessen the respect and appreciation I have for the volunteers that put these things together. All that had to be said was our cost for X y z have gone up x% so we will need to increase fees to X, and we now also have lunch, if this was already posted I did not see it.
Frankly, Its amazes me what you consider whining... excellent way to promote communication... :beerchug:

Sorry, I didn't know or provide the details of the cost increase. We are all new volunteers to D.E.
However, here is a detailed cost analysis of our "bailout math" http://www.truveo.com/Bailout-math/id/4183883887
Really fun video :roflmao: :roflmao:
