The day started like any other ax day, friendly people, early morning smack talk chatter...but wait! Eric and Mark are driving a different car?

Partial star alignment ensues...
But the smurf car is here? mmm... I then find out Jim Binford ( who got TTOD in this lot just ahead of me and Martin in his red car a bit ago, currently down for repairs) is driving the Smurf car! Crap! Stars mis-align..

Lots of talk that I need to be worried about the new Kinninger built black car...yea..yea yea..

The day goes very well, many practice laps (that was awsome, thanks to all!) and got down to low 1:14's..Erik in the black car can't break 1:15's, so on his last practice I just walked over and happen to mention , in passing, just to be helpful, that he needs low 1:14's and he promptly goes out and spins just before the lights.

Timing begins....1:14.37...1:14.01...1:13.50...

Eric's timed were still in the 1:15's I beleive, but had car trouble on his last run. After I came in Jim asks what I did and I just nicked him by 1 sec or so...stars aligning nicely..
Gunter came over and I just got him with his 1:14.4x....but why is he getting back in his car??

knowing he beat me last time in this lot I wanted to give him some encouragement, so I just walked over and promptly gave him the andrews whammy...

The Ferrari does deserve honorable mention for it's 1:10???

Last car to worry about is the Cantilever wearing Kinninger built car and excellent driver Austin Smith...he had told me he hadn't broken high 1:15's so I was still nervous but had hopes...
Out to corner work! Excitement is building as I watch the last group get timed....And then over the radio..."This is a non-timed event"...

I realize it was just was of those things and the timing crew did all they could to fix it so thank you for trying!...

But of all days, did it have to fail that day!!....
